My indoor cat is fighting through a window with a neighborhood cat that constantly comes to antagonize her. It gets pretty violent with both cats hitting the window. I know mothballs will repell snakes and rodents, will it work to keep the neighbor cat away from my windows?

Sometimes my cat has his tongue hang out of his mouth and then its like he realizes and put it back in his mouth. Is this normal. Like a dog would hang his tongue out of his mouth, but not a ?pant?

When i whistle a single note for a long time at my cats, no matter how sulky they are, they will start miaowling and run straight over to me. No other noise has this kind of impact on them. Any idea why they are so affected by whistling? Have you notice this with your cats?

There is a second cat who used to be ok, but is now also hissing at me. Are they sick, or do they just not like me? The female was fixed a couple weeks ago, and was fine around my family, but not me. now she is attacking both my mom and I. I'm a little worried. Can anyone help me?

My cat has been acting very suspicious lately. She is constantly eavesdropping on my phone conversations, and I have a strong suspicion that she has been opening my mail, reading it then resealing the envelop to cover her tracks.

I have owned cats all my life and left home while we still had 7 in the house.. indoor and outdoor (by each one's own choice) I have had lots of cats and have never had so much trouble with this cat now.

Our current kitty (appropriately named 'Beast' ) is.. kind of scary.

He's kind of a teenage kitty, almost adult, but still something of a kitten. So, he likes to have spaz attacks and run around the house like a lunatic for a while. That I can tolerate, but he does do it more often than any other cat i've known, and it goes on for forever! He's indoor only, and was brought in from the outside. He has various toys.. A few store bought ones that dingle and a mouse, but his favorites are a tic tac box with corn in it, and plastic bags (with holes, and supervised, dont worry!) He gets REALLY aggresive and scratches and bites sometimes when you want to pet him (or just stand in view of him) Other times he's really cuddly and wants attention.

Greetings. I was trimming my one-and-a-half-year-old cat's claws for the first time, using a special cat-claw clipper, and one of his back claws split a bit near the tip when I trimmed it (and he yowled!). There was no bleeding and he wasn't upset afterward (he's sleeping happily now!), but I am wondering if he could get an infection and if I should bring him to the vet. Thank you so much for your help.

Thursday night (started at 4.30 pm) he started crying (which he never does) at first we thought he sprained his foot b.c he jumps around and runs and is crazy and he was walking funny-not exactly a limp but not norm. either- and he lost all his energy I wanted to take him to the vet right then-but my husband said wait a bit your just overreacting(!) later (9.14 pm) he was a LOT worse so I said no way are we waiting and at 9.40pm he was at the emergency animal hospital. They (doctors there) said that he has crystals blocking his urethra so he can’t go to the bathroom-they sedated him and at 10.48 pm he was unblocked. They put in a catheter, and he was doing well. On Saturday they took out the catheter and then Sunday they called to say we can take him home. Then while we were on our way there they said he is reblocked!!-they said that his muscles are contracting so much that he cant go to the bathroom. So they sedated him (again!) and then squeezed his blater some urine came out..

We have just moved house. My 18month old cat has always lived at our previous address and used to spend alot of the time outside but he always came home for his food and home luxuries. We have now just moved to a bigger house just a few miles away and he has been kept indoors since we moved here 2 days ago. He seems ok and uses a litter tray at the moment but really wants to go outside. When will it be safe to let him go outside. We have got a really large garden but he would be able get into the street if he tried. I don't want to lose him but he is so eager to go out .

I had two cats brothers, one needed to be put to sleep. A week later he started to cry in the early morning. I call out to him,he comes and I pet him, but he only stays for a few minutes and runs off and starts crying again. It's not food and he has been neutered for 15yrs. Is he just depressed and this will pass in time? What can I do?

In no more than six years, one female dog and her offspring can produce over sixty-seven thousand puppies. A female cat and her offspring can produce up to four hundred twenty thousand kittens in just seven years. In the U.S. alone, over eighteen million, two hundred fifty thousand kittens and puppies are born each year. About forty-five percent of them are sent to shelters or pounds. Five million of them are demolished because nobody can find homes for them.
Even if you don’t have a passion for animals, this affects you. It costs United States taxpayers an estimate of two billion dollars each year to round up, give homes to, abolish, and dispose of needy animals.
I'm one of those people who absolutely love animals, I want to do something about the rising population of them. So what will you do about it?
