yes, the cats will learn to accept this person. for a week or 2 have this person pretty much ignore the cats, if the cats come to this person the they can try and pet the cats, the cats will get use to them after sometime, let the cats make the first move. have this person be the one who feeds them and changes the litter, that way they see this person as someone that is good and the giver of food.

They should be OK if you make sure they have plenty of safe places to hide away from the strange person until they've had time to get used to the new person's presence. Cats are creatures of routine and need time to adjust to changes. Make sure their litterbox is placed somewhere in 'your' part of the living space, so they don't have to go out around the stranger to get to their box. Same with the food, water, and scratching post. They'll come out & start investigating when they're ready - don't try to force them to have contact with the newcomer.
If there's a special treat the cats love, or a toy they're crazy about, you can try having the roommate tempt them with the treats and toy, from a safe distance, without invading their hiding space - he or she can handle the treats and drop or toss them where the cats can get to them, while the roommate retreats to a 'safe' distance. That should help them gradually learn to associate your roommate with good things.
Also, try getting a Feliway Comfort Zone diffuser to help calm them down - you can find them at the vet, pet stores, and online. It's really helped with my cats, through moving and getting used to a new cat.

usually they do unless they really hate the person. Just make sure the new roomate treats them with respect and doesn't interact with them too much when they are first getting to know each other, but make sure they don't ignore them. hope I helped.
