My cat licks photographs. Why??? Is there some sort of chemical on them that is tasty? My other 2 cats don't lick photographs. I have to be very careful about leaving any photos out because he finds them virtually instantly, and starts licking them. What is his malfunction?

The cat rarely meows during the day, but it does occasionally, but never for the extended periods of time it does at night. We have tried locking the cat into the bathroom with its food, water and litterbox at night but it still meows, and out apartment is small enough that you can still hear the cat (even through two doors!). I can't deal with not being able to sleep anymore, please help!

I have a 5 mo old kitten and he sometimes bites. I've tried the water bottle thing, I tried the grasping the back of the neck and holding him there, he just gets mad and keeps his mouth open. I tried time out, he cries and eventually we let him out. Nothing has really worked yet. Don't get me wrong, when he's not biting, he's perfect and he doesn't always bite. He lets me bathe him, cut his nails, brush his teeth and brush him. He's extremely affectionate, he grooms my facial hair, he comes to us to sleep. He's never scratched anybody EVER. He just bites and it's not out of anger, he's playing, but he's getting stronger and its starting to hurt. When he gets angry with me trying to discipline him, he keeps his mouth open and doesn't let me touch him, but he doesn't attack me. I read that someone said when he bites to put your finger in his mouth and press down on his tongue, it represents you biting him back.. Oh and how to get him to stop using us and jumping posts

Since moving to our new home, about 4 months ago, one of my cats has started urinating in the floor right in front of the litter box, and on top of the litter box. I clean the box everyday, often twice a day, as I have multiple cats. This has never been an issue, as she is 3 and this has never happended until we moved. This is not our first move, in fact we have moved across the US from CA , to OH, to NC. The only thing I can think of is we now have hardwood floors, as previously we have always had carpet or linoleum. Any Ideas?

I have adopted this Tom cat because his owner was'nt looking after him,he was skinny and always out side of work,so i sneak him in and feed him but he decided to wee, which absolutly stunk the place out,he is house trained because i've got him a litter tray which he doe's use,,the question i would like answering is,,he's urine absolutly stinks BUT he has'nt been castraited,,i am thinking of taking him home because he has no life here and his owner is pants BUT if i got him castraited would his urine not smell so strong,,believe me when i say it's strong!!!! Its such a shame because he's such a lovely cat and deserves to have a good little life..So please if you know if it doe's make a difference to the smell of his urine could you please let me know..Before i get slatted for taking the cat,his owner is cruel to him plus the cat is over a year old and should of been castraited by now enyway.

I'm having probs with my cat. She's nearly 6 months old so still quite young. She has a bed which she sleeps in when I'm watching telly etc. Thing is that when I go to bed, she insists on sleeping in the bed with me... IN the bed (like, under duvet)

I don't personally think this is very hygenic and I've tried to get her out but I fall asleep and wake up to find she has sneaked under duvet again.

I've tried shutting her out of my bedroom but she meows and meows until it resembles a heart renching scream and I have to let her back in again.

I've also tried keeping her cat bed in the bedroom on the floor but she won't go near it if she knows I'm in the bed. Argh!

Our vet recently told us, he's booked in for blood tests but I'm really worried for him, has anyone heard of this before?

I have no idea what it is, I have a vet apt for her on the 22nd. Should I try to get her in sooner and is she ok to be around? She is a 9 week old kitten that we got from the kennels.

i have been searchin for pet insurance and the sites are talking about me paying 100percent and then possibly they will give me 80percent back!!!!that is not insurance that is reimbursement..insurance is when for example i pay a co-pay ammount and they pay the rest not me paying everything and then maybe theyll give me my money back, why i think they may try to scam me into saying "oh we cant, for some dumb reason"it sounds real scandolous to me.any opinions on this?????

Seriously. I don't know how to get her in, or even why she won't come in. She seems scared. She did this once before and someone said that perhaps someone had been mean to her (I think it is an evil neighbor). I put her out to go potty and now she won't come in. If I try to just grab her, she takes off. Help!

My kitten LOVES tinfoil. We found this out when we were unwrapping xmas sweets so we screwed the wrapper up and threw it around the room and he used to chase it. Well, now, he's started bringing the foil back to me and dropping it at my hand so I can throw it again for him and he keeps doing it over and over. It really is a funny sight. I thought only dogs did this! Has anyone heard of this or have we got a contender for You've Been Framed?!!!

She is just 4 months old and was recently desexed and had her final vacinations. She was off colour and vomiting for a week after the operation and i was in constant contact with the vet over her condition, towards the end of the week she only ate very little amounts. on Saturday she was operated on and it was discovered she had not one but two telescopic bowel obstructions. She has spent just over 48 hours on IV and been cared for by the vet, the only time she ate after the op was when given drugs to stimulate the appetite and threw up after. the vet is leaning towards euthanasia for her as her wound is still weeping and she will not eat and therefore not able to pass. We cannot say for sure that she has a blockage and may just take a few days and encouragement to get better, the vet advised that she is not in pain but soon enough a desicion needs to be made. Does anyone have any idea about a condition like this or knowledge of what we can do or try ?

Our male cat, who is around 10 yrs old is starting to lose weight. He is a Main Coon cat who is usually a bit overweight (around 19 lbs) and, though we don't have a scale to weigh him on in our home, he is definately showing signs that he's losing quite a bit of weight recently.
We couldn't usually feel his ribs/spine, but now they seem quite prominent. He is only eating half of the food we give him also. He's not really acting too differently or meowing like he's in pain, so we can't figure out why he's losing lbs. Other than taking him to a vet, is there any other reason he would be changing like this, he's not all that old yet.

Actually my pet(4 months old cat)had undergone a sterilization operation 15 days back on 1.1.2007.an incision was made on the right side of the abdomen and closed by staplers.ten days after the surgery a small swelling appeared around the incision area and started oozing out the pus.then i consulted my vet and he gave penicillin injection along with oral antibiotics.but he told no need to drain the pus.after that the swelling subsides but again swelling start appearing now.but my cat is active only.in my native place no care is given for cats(compared to dogs and other animals) from the vet side.so please anyone give me suggestions(please ask your veterinarian).I'm a medical student so give suggestions so that i can execute any procedures safely.
