They are now selling crystals that look like white crystalized glass, and they come in a bag. The bag isn't very large, and each bag lasts about 2 weeks. The crystals absorb ALL the smell. I couldn't believe it when I first bought them. I had been using Tidy Cat for multiple pet homes, but this works better. I buy it anywhere...and the good thing is it comes in a bag with a tearaway strip, so you can reseal it like a ziplock when you're done pouring. :)

The companies are not worried about their customers being able to open the containers, they are only worried about keeping the contents from spilling and making a mess.
Next time purchase litter in a cardboard box or bag, they are easier to open and recycle.

I can't believe that I'm the first one to mention the fact that you seem to think that most cat owners are elderly women!
I suppose you think they're witches too!
By the way, standard cat litter is carcinogenic (causes cancer), you should switch to the recycled newspaper pellet kitty litter instead. It is not dusty or carcinogenic or as heavy as normal cat litter.
