Hi Denise...consider Nature's Miracle "Just For Cats" found worldwide at most pet stores. It's an enzymatic neutralizer which works by breaking down urine proteins by thoroughly soaking the areas affected and allowing to air dry. Repeated applications are necessary for heavily soiled areas.

I posted an answer to this type of problem ages ago and after one of my aging cats decided to use my almost new and very expensive couches as a toilet so she would not get her feet wet during the wet season. I tried everything I could buy, everything I could find on-line. Spent a bloody fortune! Nothing worked. Then got very lucky with the correct solution. After more than a year of having to smell cats piss on my couches - unbearable during the wet season - I mixed: 1 tablespoon baking soda with 6 tablespoons hydrogen peroxide (3%) and applied the foam to all the stinking areas. I actually used more as I had a huge area to cover! I soaked my couches where puss had been using them as a toilet, left the ceiling fans on for a few days to allow them to dry out properly then simply vaccumed off the slight residue powder (my couches are dark grey), wiped what bit was left with a light damp cloth and have been breathing easy ever since. Not a hint of stink whatsoever. Did the same for my flooring where puss piss has soaked through the couch and onto and INTO the timber flooring. No smell left at all. And no, it did not damage the fabric on my couches, the flooring or even the carpet one of my pups made a mess of in later times.

Someone told me that biological washing powder and vinegar with a pint of water got rid of their cats pee smell on the carpet. I hope you find the answer here on yahoo and everything is ok for you, there are some good solutions here and a lot of lovely wise people :-) (hiya people..! ).
If all else fails... get a different cat... (i'm kidding, i'd never replace my little furry baby).
If I tried everything and nothing worked for me, I'd just re-carpet and get a cat flap so they can go and piss outside to their hearts content...!

Try biological washing powder and hot water. It has to be bio not non-bio, and the hot water activates the enzymes in the powder. My friends cat was using her downstairs toilet as her toilet and nothing worked, till she tried the bio washing powder and hot water. She gave the carpet a couple of good washes, and now the smell has gone. she did think she'd have to get a new carpet. I've tried it with dog wee, and it has been successful.

My dog did that and I used vanish mousse. Cat wee does smell a bit stronger than dog wee though. I think you'll have to get a vacuum that shampoos the carpet. I rented mine from focus when I moved out of the house I was renting. It looked and smelled brand new. I think you might be paranoid though, worrying incase someone else can smell it, ask your visitors if they can smell it. If they can then use that vaccum from focus.

Use Dumb Cat made by Life's Great Products to get rid of cat urine in carpet and furniture. Spray it on and leave it. Do not wipe it up.The product will take about a week or more to get rid of the urine and odors. Petco.com sells it as does drsfostersmith.com Or google it and find somebody close that sells it. I tried all the products on the market and this was the only one that worked.

A new carpet. We had our last house cleaned twice by professinals and the smell never went; even two years after the cat died. When we moved into the next house we could smell the familiar sharp stench of cat piss. They had two persians that never left the house. We re-carpeted immediately and the smell never returned.

Cat urine is VERY strong. You may want to consider having the carpet replaced. I have been in several places that cats have urinated and even after a professional cleaning you can still lightly smell it. The only thing that I have known to completely remove the smell is new carpet.

at the spot where the cat pee'd put some freshly open coffee grinds and leave it there for a couple of hours and then vacuum it , the smell of the cat's pee'd will be replace by a better smelling coffee, better yet if the smell is really strong let the coffee grinds stay for the whole day and it will really evaporized the cat's smell.

Home Remedy for cat urine smell. This is a great recipe for removing cat urine odor from carpet. Start by blotting up as much of the urine as possible with old rags or paper towels. Next mix 3 parts water with one part vinegar and saturate the spot. Dry thoroughly using the same method mentioned above. Once dry, sprinkle the area with baking soda. Next mix ¾ cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide solution with one tsp. dish detergent and sprinkle over the baking soda. Try this first on a small inconspicuous area of the carpet to make sure the hydrogen peroxide won’t discolor your carpet. Next, use your fingers or an old brush to work the baking soda in. I’ve used an old hairbrush with little bits of plastic over the tips with good results. Allow this to dry and vacuum it up. If there’s still a slight odor when done, lather, rinse and repeat.
Remove cat urine odor from laundry. Use this method on your clothing, bedding, rugs or anything you think you can stuff in the washer (not including your cat). Simply add ¼ cup apple cider vinegar along with your normal laundry detergent, start the washer and VOILA!
Bleach your cement floors and bare walls. Although this method is widely disputed because of the deadly reaction bleach has with ammonia (which is found in cat urine), if you go about it carefully, it can be an effective way to kick the urine smell out of your life for good. First, wash the soiled area with any appropriate cleaner you have that DOES NOT contain ammonia. Once clean, wipe the area down with fresh water to remove any residue left behind by the cleaner. Next, do it again. I know it sounds laborious, but trust me, this works. After your second washing and wiping, employ your bleach. In a clean spray bottle you can pick up from the beauty section of any Target store, mix a 10:1 water to bleach solution. Make sure the area you are cleaning in is well ventilated, put on some rubber gloves and get to work. Spray on lightly, let sit for about 30 seconds, and wipe off with a clean damp rag.
