An old roommate had to move to a place that doesn't allow pets, so I took her 2yr old house cat into my home. I already had two cats of my own. Since all of the cats eat from the same bowls, I just fed her cat what mine ate, Friskies cat food, wet and dry. She told me her cat ate Purina Urinary formula but I didn't bother to buy it bc it's easier for them all the eat the same food. Now the cat has the worst diarreah and I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

Also, one of my cats constantly hisses and swats at the new cat, is there something I can do to help them get aquainted faster?

I bought home my gorgeous new 12 week old kitten on Thursday night, she's been really nervous - running to hide whenever she's unsure of something, but is gradually coming out of her shell to claim her rightful place as Queen on the house ;-D

I'm starting to get a little worried about her though. She's eating really well, I'm feeding her Whiskas kitten pouches and she has a bowl of dry food in case she gets the munchies, but she hasn't really bothered with that. She's not the biggest drinker, but knows where her water is and has had a few goes. She's been using her litter box well for urinating but I haven't seen her pass a stool yet & I'm starting to get concerned. I've read olive oil is good but other than that am out of ideas. I really don't want to pack her off to the vet in the cat carrier so soon as she's just starting to get her confidence around us (she really, really hated that thing when we bought her home).

Any advice?????

Sometimes my cat gags when she sniffs something she doesn't like. I have had cats before (granted they were outside cats) but I never noticed this behavior before. I was just wondering if this is a normal action for cats. Thanks

We have taken him to the vet but she could find nothing wrong, unfortuately he chose to walk almost normally at the vets. Back home he hopped out of his carrier! This has been going on for about a month, he doesn't seem to be in pain but obviously its upsetting to see him unable to walk well. Has anyone any ideas what maybe wrong or had a cat with a similiar problem.

Is he seriously sick or is it just a cat with hairballs thing? I mean should I be worried, he still eats and is active (well as active as a cat can be), and doesn't seem to be loosing weight. It's a little hard to tell cuz he's so furry. But is there any thing I can do to help him? Let me know, thanx. ;)

My vet says that my cat's corneas are scared beyond repair due to a bacterial infection. She says my cat's eyes will be permanently closed following surgery. How is this done? If they are sewn shut, won't they re-open when the stitches are removed? How do I deal with a blind cat?

More than 5 years ago, I purchased on a trip in Portsmouth, Virginia "Catfish Pickings or Pickins" dry catfood for cats. I bought 5 boxes and took back to Michigan and my cat liked it so much, I had my sister mail me several more boxes. All I know it was manufactured in Georgia.

We would like a female, not white or black solid colored. Siamese or part would be nice. We want a really affectionate cat that is a people person and likes to play with toys. We have a Pug and a tortie cat. Thank you!!

It has been suggested, but...

On one hand, this is a personality-plus, charming older kitten (c. 8 months); very cute, fascinated by ribbon and wrap and isn't she wonderful blah blah blah.

On the other hand, the invitation came from somebody who doesn't have a lot of experience with cats. It seems we might spend the day stopping her from clawing up exciting new furniture, losing her in the unfamiliar house, etc.

She is fairly well-socialised and seems fond of people.

But...

Well, I don't know. Would you?

My vet gave me a training guide that says to squirt him with cold water and tell him "no", but even though he doesn't like it much he's still a trouble-maker (i.e. un-decorating the Christmas tree, getting into the toilet, even with the lid down). He's a great cat, very loving and vocal but he's a brat too.

Any suggestions?

Alex, my 2 yr old male cat, is very playful and can play rough with me even sometimes. i have recently saved another cat and introduced her into my home. At first, she was very sick and unhealthy and he was by her side and i guess he sensed how weak and pathetic she was. now that she is better, i feel that he views her as a threat now and needs to prove himself. i've read countless message boards that all said one cat needs to establish dominence, etc....my question, is when will it stop?? he's already shown that he runs the show so to speak, but everytime she comes out of the room, he has to chase her and back her into a corner then proceeds to swat her. he doesn't make any noises; no hissing, or screaming, nothing. it is she that does that. i cannot keep them separated anymore..it has been three weeks already - we must go on with life. please let me know if you have any recommendations or advice....thanks.
