my cat ate just a tiny bit of chocolate (like a nibble) I have heard chocolate can kill cats, is he unharmed by just that much?

For a tiny nibble, your cat most likely won't die, but could have some gastrointestinal difficulties/problems. You might want to be prepared for that. Also, keep your pet hydrated and watch for any abnormal behavior after a few hours. Call your vet tomorrow if the cat is still sick.

Chocolate is very toxic to cats and dogs if they ingest enough of it. It is less of a concern if they eat milk chocolate, the dark and baker's type chocolate is the worst. However, both types of chocolate are toxic. You can always check out the info on one of the Animal Poison Control Centers website. I know that the ASPCA has one. If your cat only ate a little nibble of chocolate it should be fine. Just watch out for any vomiting or diarrhea, tremors/seizures, and call your Vet immediately if you notice any of these signs. Cat will be fine though, but keep the chocolate out of reach from now on.

lol. Cats really can't die of a tiny nibble of chocolate, but on long terms it's really bad for them. It can cause all sorts of problems. My cats have a nibble now and then, as long as it's JUST A NIBBLE...

Cat's are not supposed to have chocolate but it is not going to kill them in little amounts if they get ahold of it. They are resilient animals, my cat gets into any and every piece of food she can. I know she has gotten into chocolate. Besides there was one day I had my pain medicine out on the table we are talking vicodin here, and I got up for 2 seconds to go to the bathroom came back and found she had eaten 1/4 of a pill. But she is still alive to meow about it persay...lol

Chocolate can kill dogs and cats by giving them diarrhea. Best not to give them any. I suggest you watch kitty, and see how s/he does over the next few days. Hopefully, s/he will be okay, and this won't happen again.

Best wishes.

I think your kitty will be fine, because I've herd that someones dog(very small) ate more chocolate than your kitty did and their dog is still the same before it ate the chocolate.

Chocolate is poisonous to cats and dogs. Don't feed them anymore. Theobromine can kill them!
