My cats haven't been inside in 6 months but I have fleas, is there a way to get rid of them yourself (without having an exterminator?)

you can get fogging "bomb"...

However, unless you treat your pets aggressively then they (the pets) just keep the fleas coming and coming.

You gotta wash your pet's bedding. You gotta treat your cat w/ flea meds. Bonus points if you don't let you cat outdoors (never a good idea to let them out, but cats are cats).

You might consider treating your lawn for insects, which might help the flea situation.

You need to get the works...Get flea powder and sprinkle it EVERYWHERE it could take several bottles. Then you need to get flea collers for any animals cause if they cant go on the floor they are going to go to the next thing...then bomb the place every room. It could be very expensive for a large house...your best bet ultimately might just be an exterminator, considering the project you are going to be getting yourself into. Think about it one area you don't spray or bomb you just wasted all that money you spent on everything else...

Yup,
Flea bombs, lots and lots of flea bombs. Buy at least one for each room of the house that the cats have been allowed to go in. If you have any very large areas such as a basement you may need 2 or 3 for that area alone. Be sure to get your food (if not canned) and their food(if not canned) and water out of the room before you bomb. This stuff is toxic and can contaminate food items not properly protected. If you have any fish they need to be protected too. Same for birds etc. Good Luck to you! Been there done that.

buy a couple of flea bombs (make sure you cover everything in the kitchen before activating). you will also have to buy a long acting flea solution for all yr pets (Advantage or Frontline...comes in a paste which you apply on the top of their necks according to there size) this will not only kill the fleas but the larvae. this should stop the flea cycle...

The supermarket stocks flea 'bombs' which you can set off in a sealed room. They do the job. Just go to the aisle where the fly spray etc. is.

first try isolating the problem, you can buy this powder stuff from PetCo. you just sprinkle it on the carpet and let it sit about 2-4 hrs, then vacume it all out. that should work.
although i might suggest shaving ur cat to dispose any fleas and then make sure it stays inside.
hope this helps

You can try do some bug bombs but if you only bomb one room they'll just run to another part of the house...best thing go to the pros and hire an exterminator before it gets worse.

Buy a Defogger, it is in a can, you set it off, and leave the house for 2-4 hours
it works great for all crawling creatures.
