Is he seriously sick or is it just a cat with hairballs thing? I mean should I be worried, he still eats and is active (well as active as a cat can be), and doesn't seem to be loosing weight. It's a little hard to tell cuz he's so furry. But is there any thing I can do to help him? Let me know, thanx. ;)

Not neccesarily....could be hairballs...or even like my cat did. She would eat so fast and so much that she would barf it up. I would suggest that you take your cat to the vet to be on the safe side. For your peace of mind and for the sake of your feline friend. I will be praying for you and your cat. I have two cats and they are family.

My cat does this alot. Sometimes it is hairballs but mostly it is because of no reason. He is still active and isn't sick. One day he would puke every time after drinking water or eating. I called the vet and they told me to take food and water away for 24 hours. I guess the way it was explained, this will clear the digest system. It worked, but he still pukes occasionally for no reason. The vet said that it could be food that doesn't agree with him. After several tests the vet said he must have a sensitive stomach because nothing was wrong. I was told to try Iams or Pedigree (not sure if I spelled that right) food.

I'm going to assume you have a long haired cat since you describe him as "furry". Cats constantly groom themselves and get hair in their stomachs which they can not digest and pass through their systems without help. Get Petromalt or something like it at a pet store to give your kitty to help pass the hairballs along. There is also cat food that is for hairballs that has similar added ingredients. Brushing doesn't hurt either. Good Luck!

My cat did this because she ate too much too quickly, and threw up the excess. We tried everything the vet suggested (including putting rocks in her food (too large to eat) to slow her down and putting her on a special diet for stomach sensitivities) but she continued to throw up.

Finally the vet recommended half of a stomach acid control tablet (5 mg) each morning. She stopped vomiting the first day! We continued with the tablets for 1 week and she went 1 more week without being sick. We would offer the tablets again for about 3 days and she would not be sick for another week.

We don't want to give her medicine unless necessary, but as long as we stop and start the tablets at the first sign of her being sick, we seem to be able to keep her illness in check.

We had a complete blood profile done and many thorough exams and they can find nothing wrong with her.

Good luck to you.

Sometimes it just means he's eating something he disagrees with so spewing is just getting rid of it. If he keeps being sick for ages, then maybe get a pro to check it out. He may just sort himself out and it could be hairballs. Cats are pretty tough, just keep a lookout. If it seems normal - eating etc - there could be no problems.

It doesn't sound serious to me. Even short haired cats throw up quite regularly. If you can has a lot of hair it may be fur balls. Keep and eye on him just in case and if he shows any other signs of not being himself you can take him to the vet. There is special food available now to help reduce fur balls. Maybe you should ask your vet, or in your local pet shop, if they have any.

Could be sick. Also, sometimes it happens when they have eaten too much grass. Cats will get the idea to eat grass, and then sometimes just keep eating it until it makes them vomit.

If he is really fuzzy... then it could be hairballs. I would watch him. If his attitude changes from active to sickly then i would take him to the vet.
