I will lie down in bed and my cat will jump on the bed, climb on my chest, start kneading me and then he will plop right down on my chest/stomach. He will also very gently touch my face with his paw several times while he is laying there. Why does this mean?

A coworker and I each had to decorate an office Christmas tree yesterday. When we were done, I got several comments about the bottom part of my tree not having decorations. That's when I realized I had decorated it the same way I did mine at home- not leaving any dangling ornaments for my kitties to knock off. Has your cat trained you in a way that shows up in other aspects of your life?

We have tried rubbing catnip on it but all that makes her do is rub up against it and be extremely lovey with us... it doesn't get her to scratch it. We have also taken her to her scratching post and taken her paws and showed her how to do it... but she still won't use it. Anyone have any ideas?
Our furniture needs your help!!!

I've got three kittens: 7 months old, 11 weeks old and 8 weeks old.
When I brang the new Tonkinese kitten (Polly) home, my 11 week old Tonkinese kitten (Lia) started acting very aggressive to everyone and everything.
I'm sure it has to do with getting another kitten so soon but why is she so aggressive towards people?
She isn't ever aggressive towards Missy (7 months) because Missy is much bigger than Lia.
Whenever I pick Lia up or stroke her, she will try to bite and/or scratch me.
She hasn't been like this before.

What can I do to calm her down?
Also, I kept Lia and Polly seperate for the first 3 days and since then, I have let Polly walk around the house freely.

I paid around 80$ to get my siamese bred with another male siamese, I left her for 5days ( like they told me to ), 3weeks have passed,n'the vet asked me to take her back for a pregnancy check up, he told me not to feed her for at least 6hours, n'thatz what I did, anyways, when I took her, he told me she "might" be pregnant & that I have to bring her back in a week, her nipples did become abit pinkish & she gained alil more weight, but that might be because I feed her well, anyways, my cat started acting VERY weird for the past 3days, here are her weird behaiviours:

1-she keeps rubbing againt ANYTHING,
2-she sits on my bed, with her whole tummy stuck to the bed n'raises her read abit.
3-when I pet her, she raises her rear
4-she'z been meowing insainly
5-her "thingy" gets wet sometimes :-s wtf iz that ??? somethin' clear & lookz more like glue, but she lickz it off, :| disgusting, I KNOW!!
6-she LOVES it when I rub her tummy & startz rubbing her whole body left & right =>

my mother lives in the apartment in half of our basement and has a dog who has fleas. the dog had been itching for weeks but none was found but after a vet visit yesterday, fleas were confirmed. does this mean my cat is certain to have them too since they play together? she has not been itching like the dog did. how can you tell?

I took my 6 month old 2 pound Singapura in this morning to get spayed, I live in Singapore - a country that hates cats and didn't feel that comfortable with it but they assured me everything would be fine. They called me to tell me her breathing was labored and if I would like them to begin the procedure anyway - I said no (common sense!) and now she's home. She's acting very very drugged and wobbling when she walks and is just being very not herself. I have her in her favorite spot with her favorite towel over her and she just looks pitiful. Is this normal after anesthesia - I'm very worried. Please help!

I just got in town and my "house sitter" has told me that the kitten hasn't eaten in two days. She had to force feed it and then bathed it b/c of the mess created with the feeding. She told me that she may have gotten some water in the cat's ears and that it started "panting" (yes, that sounds odd to me too). At any rate, there are no vets open here but I will take tomorrow. The kitten is very sedated with shallow breathes but is not moving at all--I mean the cat looks dead except for the stomach moving with the breaths. Any advice?

My girlfriend thinks her cat dezi is sad that her other cat mommy died of cancer the other day. She points out that Dezi has not been outside in 3 days when he is normally an outside cats. I don't think cats are smart enough to sense death and the couple animals that can are Elephants and Monkeys. Is my argument right ? Just curious

I have a male (desexed) and a female (desexed) cat, both 12mths old, they came from separate litters. I wanted to know whether you reckon i should refer to them as brother and sister, or a couple?

I have noticed this in the last month or so. Apart from the time that we play with him, or have him wandering around indoors, we leave him outdoors (he seems to want this) as much as we can. We bring him in at mealtimes, whenever he wants to come in, and at night, as he's too young to be left out on his own.
Incidentally, we don't have a cat flap at the door to allow him access in and out when he pleases- this is a rented house we're living in, and the owner will not permit us to install one. His food tray is kept in a large semi-open room with his litter tray and box to sleep in at separate ends.
In the mornings, or when I have to be out for a long time during the day and cannot leave him outside, I find he complains loudly and seems very hungry. His food tray would still be nearly full, but he only starts eating if we stroke him. If we leave the room he stops eating, and wants to come out. I can't always be with him when it's time for him to eat. Why is he doing this?

My female cat goes limp and falls over when trying to bring up a hairball. She falls head first like she is losing air but then after it comes up she is fine. This is very scary has anyone experienced this? I have had other cats and never experienced this. I will pick her up and set her back down but she can't stand on her legs they just go completely limp. But then she will be fine.....what is happening? She will be going to a vet obviously but any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you

I have a new kitten and he is extremely playful. i have many bites and scratches on my arm from where he chased my hand around. I have alot of string for him to play with and he loves it.. but tonight i let him run around in circles a few times to try and catch it. when i stopped spinning the string, he would walk off and kind of topple over like he was drunk or something. so is it possible that cats can get dizzy too?

My room-mates' cat is very young, only 8 months old, and we're all wondering whether she could be pregnant. She recently was let out of the house, and was gone for about four days. We're not sure, mostly because her symptoms before she left were very...un-heat-like. There was yowling, yes, but not an excessive rubbing or spraying, or even any additional flightiness like most of the cats I've owned exhibit during their heat.

My questions are basically: is she old enough to possibly be pregnant?

Could she have been in heat, most likely her first, without some of the typical symptoms?

(And, yes, I do know how to tell when a cat is pregnant, at about four to five weeks. My mother was a vet. tech and taught me how to feel for the fetuses, as well as the fact that I've read on the subject before asking this.)

I already have a scratching post and toys but she still goes for the things she's not supposed to scratch, i don't like the idea of getting her declawed coz i think that's cruel, she knows she's not supposed to scratch the rug and furniture, coz when she does scratch it, she always looks at me, as i walk closer, she does it more then runs off at the last second and turns feral, so i have to put her outside, i want to keep her inside and she remains calm.

She's 8 months old, already desexed and just feral at times.
