I will lie down in bed and my cat will jump on the bed, climb on my chest, start kneading me and then he will plop right down on my chest/stomach. He will also very gently touch my face with his paw several times while he is laying there. Why does this mean?

He is showing you that you are his favorite pet (dogs are human's pets but I believe cats choose us as thier pets!).

He is very happy with you and wants to be near you. He is bonding with you BIG time!!! He touches you softly as a big sign of pure love, the kneading is for him to get comfortable so he can spend a lot of time with you! If he could talk, you would really love to hear all the wonderful things he has to say about you...!!!

some cats do that is the way they show affection. cats are more serious than dogs. it can also be a way of your cat loving the comfort of your chest or the warmth of your body. or it might make him or her feel safe. is nothing bad enjoy it because once they get bigger they seem to push themselves away.

It means he loves you and sees you as his surrogate mommy. Two of our six cats do similar things with us so it's not abnormal at all. One will often sleep on top of me all night.
