When I'm at other people's houses, I tend to push delicate looking objects away from the edge of the surface they're sitting on. I also hold my drinks in my hands or between my knees rather than risk putting it down somewhere, and I too carry my plate from room to room instead of leaving it behind. And I almost never wear black pants anywhere, on the off chance there might be kitty hair waiting for me. It's also second nature for me to to a run-through of the apartment every time I get home, replacing fallen remotes, tipped over decorations, scattered toys, scattered food, fallen mail, etc.
Between me and my 2 best friends, we have a total of 6 cats, so it's little wonder we're all so trained by them!

Absolutely. First thing that comes to mind is that I never get up from the dinner table to get more water, or a forgotten fork or whatever I'm missing, without carrying my plate along with me. I just can't trust those pesky guys no matter how many times they tell me they won't touch my food.!!!
Second thing that comes to mind -- I tend toward choosing the colors of my wardrobe based on the colors of my cats in hopes that the cat hair will blend in at least kind of. ;^)
Third and last, I promise, although there must be a million more. The bottom drawer of the bedside dresser remained open for 3 straight years -- not because I was too lazy to close it, but because of an aging cat who needed a step up in order to be able to get onto the bed
Every life should have 9 cats!

Yep... we have every good intention to bring up well trained kitties and end up as well-trained humans at their beck and call. I work at home and I have adjusted my schedule so that I am up all night working so I can be with the cats when they are awake. I also check and re-check every nook and cranny in the house for any objects or materials that can be dangerous to curious kitties. When I go visit people in their homes, I automatically look around to see if the place is "cat freindly" and make value judgments based on what I find. I need a shrink.

I had to giggle with Mira's answer. I have 5 of varied ages. My oldest tom saw the bottom of his dish last night and cried for an hour. Didn't seem to care that there was food in all other bowls, but his was almost empty. They were all crushed when I took away all the bowls, as our newest little one had to go in for surgery this morning and couldn't have food or water after 10. None of the others could figure this out and were so upset, like I was punishing them all for his boo boo. My DH says I'm whipped...Yes, I am. Hi, my name is D and I'm pussy-whipped. My cat's walk all over me and I am their humble servant.
Into every life, a lot of cat hair must be shed.

yep, no dangly ornaments on the very last row of branches. Leave no food out on the counter, especially bread!! Fragile things are placed out of general reach, no breakable stuff close to the edges of tables, mantles, etc. Always head down when going out the door to make sure no one slips out of the house.
Food bowls are kept full enough to not see the bottom- if they see a hint of bottom they come begging w huge eyes like they are all starving to death!! rofl. When driving I rarely have the windows down all the way- my gal goes with me 95% of the time in the car. And I always bring home my food scraps of meat if it's something they can eat.

Yes, I never sit down in my work clothes as they get covered in Burmese hair.
We don't leave important papers or documents on any surface, as they get chewed up.
We no longer even bother with a Christmas tree, it end in tears, usually mine, and constant shouting to "GET DOWN BAD GIRL!!"
We never leave the bathroom door open, or the loo roll has had it.
We always check the washing machine/tumble dryer/dishwasher as they have a terrible habit of climbing in.
We keep anything "nice" (like our best towels or nice clothes) locked away, as they just destroy anything good, they love to claw at towels.
We soon learnt that toys that are noisy are for weekend play time only, or they keep you up all night with the noise!!!

I do the same thing. Leave all the ornaments off the tree. i also do not put icicles on the tree because they eat them. I cannot put anything breakable anywhere. It's just second nature to not buy anything nice to display anywhere b/c they will come and rub up against it and break it somehow

LOL I find that when I go to cookouts or help with dinner at an event, I never throw away the seals on the milk jugs I open. My kitties love them and even if they're nowhere around I always save the tabs!

Absolutely! I am well trained by mine and my house is totally cat-proof. I do not have anything that they can get into or knock over and break. Fortunately for me, I am not into cluttering my living space with decor!
