This is driving me crazy already.....Everytime I come home, whenever my kittens hear my keys in the lock turning, they come running and, at least, one of them runs out the door as I'm coming in. Sometimes, its one of them, sometimes it both and when its both its like tryin to catch a bird.

Now I live in an apartment on the 2nd floor so it would be easy for them to run and jump off or fall through the steps (cause they are open). And lately when they have been running out they seem to get further away from my apartment each time.

I don't know what I can do but I'm at my wits end now...I just went out to throw the trash and when I came back one of them ran out and up the stairs, twice!! I was/am so furious at them. I don't know what else I can do to prevent this.

I need some suggestions on how to keep them indoors.
Maybe a gate around the area where my door is? Or I could stick my Vacuum Cleaner right at the door and when I open to come in, I push the button to turn it on??

I have 13 cats and 1 kitten of which four are indoor only, the rest are both. Several of my cats come to you and meow when they need out. We used to have a cat door, but had to take it out when our dogs went through it and broke it.. The dogs are 40 and 70 pounds. If only my dogs let me know like they do. I'm just curious to see how many of us are experiencing this.

I realize that I am going to sound like a complete nutjob but here is the situation. Christmas Eve this mysterious cat showed up. It somehow got stuck in my attic so I got her down. Since then this cat seems to have a "thing" for me. What I mean is that the cat won't leave me alone. It is as if the cat is patrolling my house. It goes from the back door to the front door then to the window next to my bed climbing on the screen. Then to the window with the ac unit in it. She jumps up on the ac and literally knocks on my window with her paws. Then the cat sits on the hood of my truck until she decides to start the routine all over again. After several times doing this then she goes back into the attic and sits on the fan over my bedroom and cries. I find this very strange. I have a feeling that the cat is here for a reason, crazy as that may sound. I am pregnant could this be the reason for my 'visitor'? Anyways I guess my question is what do you think? Serious answers pls

To feed her or to the kitty liter box. She lost her mother when she was 3 day's old.She will play with her toy mouse as if it was a kitten or as if it was a rill mouse. She seams to know where she left it the last time she had it.

I have to. I can't just do my business and stare at towels. I've even read shampoo bottle labels within reach when I forget to bring something in.

I have two cats, one male and one female. Both are fixed and have been indoor cats since I adopted them. They are both about 4 1/2 years old and usually get along pretty well. Don't get me wrong, they have had their little kitty tiffs over the years, but lately the male cat has been mauling my female cat. She is much smaller in size than he is and he uses this to his advantage. Tonight he got her so good that I had to separate the two of them. There was fur EVERYWHERE from where he had torn it out of my poor girl kitty. I inspected her closely for wounds and did not find any, and they're both back to normal now. I can't think of any reason for the sudden change in his behavior. There's been no change in diet, no big move, virtually no changes here. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
