I give my cat a bath once a month or maybe once every two months. Too many baths aren't good. It dries out their skin. You can get shampoo at any pet store.

Cats are generally pretty clean and do not need regular bathing unless they become dirty or have a skin condition. General bathing can be done once a month. For a basic cleaning an over-the-counter pet shampoo will work. Avoid using human shampoos and other human products as they are much too harsh. If your pet has a skin condition, then a special treatment by your veterinarian is wise since special shampoos may be needed for

Cats clean themselves for the most part, but if they do not they'll need a little help. My aunt's cat recently died and for the past few years, the cat has needed help with grooming. She was twenty years old. They do have special shampoos for cats, they can be found at your local pet store.

If it's a young kitty you're worried about, you won't need to wash it unless it's injured, matted, or it rolled in something smelly!

There are even wipes for cats, because as we all know.. they don't much like water! I would know.. I've got so many scars from when I was little and I'd try to take my cat in the shower with me.. oh and I also flushed her tail in the toilet... hehe I was a terrible little girl!

Normally never, except if they get very dirty (or fall into the toilet ... had one cat who used to do that).

One exception is nude cats (sphinx and peterbald) which should be bathed once in a while.

No, not unless they get specifically mucky in something. Cats are fastidiously clean. If you do HAVE to, you would use a little bit of liquid hand dishwashing soap in the tub.

they say its not good to bath cats, they wash them selfs, but i buy bathing wipes in pet department to bath my cat, they are wet wipes ,you can warm them in microwave for 10 seconds so they wont be so cold when you bath your cat, they are wonderful and make them smell good too. hope this helps.
