yeah mine does all the time. She is so cute. I make a game out of it. I buy the balls that have a little bounce to them and I sit on the floor and toss it at the wall. She tries to catch it in mid air. She loves it! And if I toss it into another room she brings it back to me. It's adorable.

Sure, unless the cat is jumping up and down for a stick and hanging its tongue out and barking... that wouldn't be normal. But cats especially like to play keep away with cat nip toys. You probably can't play fetch with cat nip. Try cat nip bubbles though, hilarious fun!

3 of the 5 cats I've owned would play fetch over and over with a ball of paper.
That's better than half, in my case anyway.
I'd call that a high enough percentage to refer to it as normal,
But folks still freaked out every time I'd show them for the first time.

I have a cat who plays with balls made of receipt paper, like from the grocery store. He prefers the old-fashioned rough kind rather than the slick type you get now. The newer paper sticks to his tongue and lips. I throw and he fetches. Sometimes he just like to play soccer by himself.

Yes, my Grandmother's cat does it all of the time. He will even pester you to play like a dog.

Sure is. When I was a teen, one of my cats would fetch a ball after I'd throw it down the hall. He bring it back and put it in your hand. Just have fun with your kitty, but I wouldn't expect him/her to get the paper.

Yes. Cats do the darndest things.. my cat used to sit and give me her paw. my other cat used to carry my panties around the house and toss it in the air and catch it again.. my other cat also knew how to open doors... they are all unique and have special qualities.. that's what makes them so individual and special.

Yup my cat is besties with my dog & he iz a rotty. They play tackle and catch it rlly cute.
