I had cats that were trained as well as my dogs. Other than training, there are sprays to repel cats.

Someone said a super soaker....on the leather...are you serious? We have leather sofas but don't sweat the cats BUT they make a product called Scat Mats that you can put on your furniture that emits a static charge or they have some that emit sounds. Drsfostersmith.com has some or just do a search for pet products. Good luck.

watch them whenever you can... and when they go near the leather furniture spray them with a water bottle. that usually trains them pretty quickly.

Mine just don't like it, and they scratch everything else in the house. They jump and bounce across it because it is a different feel on there feet and it is uncomfortable. Have they actually scratched it yet, or are you preparing? See if they even like it first.
