My cat is the -same- way. She'll play in the toilet if we leave it open, will play in the bathtub or the sink or even the kitchen sink... some cats are just crazy. It's totally normal.

Most cats like water when it's their idea. The urban legend of cats hating water mostly comes from many cats throwing fits when they were given baths. Cats do not like to be held down, made sopping when they can wash themselves perfectly well, thank you, and then maybe even soaped and of COURSE the indignity of a towel dry... well. What cat would like water, if that was all they associated it with?

Some cats fervently dislike water; others love it, and a great deal couldn't give less of a sh... well.

Yes, it's normal. And funny, too, when they attack the shower curtain when you spray the water on it...

Yes its normal. Many cats do not like water but then you find the occasional cat that loves water. I had a cat that absolutely loved water and you couldnt take a bath, water flowers or even wash a car without him jumping directly in the water flow. I think its very funny.

Unusual, but not not-normal. A few cats like to take showers with their humans. It depends if they've been taught "no" with a spray bottle or squirt gun. Some cats learn as kittens that water is fun and they enjoy getting wet.

My Turkish Van won't actively seek out water (as many of the breed do), but she doesn't mind it at all. In fact, I gave her bath last week and she was just fine.

Growing up, I had a cat that would flip his waterbowl over and lay in the spilled water.

The majority don't like water, but there are a few that do.

I think it is normal for some cats. One thing to watch for though - diabetes. Our water loving cat turned out to be diabetic. Once the diabetes was under control, he wasn't quite as interested and the box usage went down quite a bit.

Is the cat a Turkish Van? They love water. If your cat isn't it's alright. You're lucky to know a cat that loves water!

Yea, cats hav personalities just like us. So they all like & dislike different things. My cats jump into the shower with me & once i found my cat swimmin in my pool. Another 1 of my cats will onlii drink from a runnin tap. Cats hav their own freaky personalities.
