Cats - October 2006

I can't stand cats. Why do middle aged 'single and loving it women' love them? If you want a true companion, get a dog. You won't find a more loyal creature. Cats ruin your furniture, jump on your counters, cough up on your carpet and then when you're ready to pet them, they turn and walk away. Then, when you're trying to kick back and relax, they put their a$$ in your face. They jump on your chest, then start backing up like the shuttle trying to dock with the internation space station. Damn cats. Worthless.

By the way, does anyone want my cat? He's an orange tabby; very friendly.

My 6 month old (spayed) kitten has been carrying my daughters Beanie Kid around as if it is her baby.
I bought her (Sammi) from my local vet which runs an adoption agency for kittens.
She was spayed there when she came in at 12 weeks old, however, I think that they fixed her the cheap way...
Is this normal behavior for my, or any other fixed kitten?

My one year old cat butterball will not use the litterbox. she used it for 3 months when she was a new kitten and then stopped and has never used it agian. She goes all around the area near the litterbox and pees and poops all over the room her litterbox is in it is disgusting. I can't take it anymore. She is afraid to go outside she cries pitifully but I am going to put her outside(or take her to the pound). I'm giving her one last chance I cant take this nastiness anymore. She has been a housecat since she was a kitten but she acts like a filthy alley cat. Has anyone ever gone thru something like this??.. and what are your suggestions.

When we got Annie, our new ktten, she wieghed 1.4. My mother comes by to baby sit her while I'm at work. I know my mom feeds her way too much. She feeds her four times a day and Annie steals my male and female cat's food, and they eat twice a day. Also my mom trys to feed her snacks like chips, apples, and other foods that are WAY to unsatiry for a kitten. Now she weighs 3.1 wich is werid because the way mom feeds her, she should wiegh 7.5. She also had diariea and puked twice. I've finally got a new kitty sitter on Sunday, but I'm not sure what to do with Annie. I'm taking her to the vet Monday. Can any one tell me what it might be? How do I help her? Do you need more info?

But I recently started a new job and Im not home with my kitten as much, The problem is I feel sad everytime I think of her and I always think of her. Shes only 6 months. It doesn't interfer with my work and there is usually someone home while Im at work. I felt the same way about my kids when they were younger. I feel theres no care like a mothers care..(I know that not always true) Is this normal ..will I get over it soon..does she get stressed without me because she does an awful lot of whining (5 seconds) as soon as I get threw the door.. Am I normal ?,, did you as a cat owner ever feel this way ever?..This is my first pet as a adult

I hear different opinions on this. You shouldn't because they clean themselves and you should to help with allergies. Hopefully someone with a lot of cat experience can answer this. (He is an inside cat)

Is there a cheaper way but still get the same results as a groomer. Because I didn't think he had fleas that bad but I gave him a bath and OMG I was disgusted at what I seen. How do you wash a cats face and prevent the fleas from running for cover on the face and in the ears. I dont want my cat to be in discomfort any longer. Any who knows about this please help.

She is an spayed adult and has been marking certain spots on the carpet for years. It's not urine, it's something else. She only marks about a drop or two at a time. Background: She was my only cat until my girlfriend moved in 3 years ago with 2 cats; both femalel one adult spayed and a kitten who spayed later. She did not like these 2 cats then, and she still acts aggressive toward the adult female now. She always marks either in corners or against a wall and has about 6 spots she goes to. This behaviour is on and off and sometimes she'l even do it right in front of us! Can anyone out there help us put a stop to this permanently? We've tried different deterrent sprays, a plugin thingie that emits cat pheremones that's supposed to keep her calm, putting aluminum foil over the spot etc etc ad nauseum. If you've ever experienced this we would greatly appreciate your help :~)

We keep our door closed at night so the cat won't come in, but when we do that he claws underneath the door making an unbelievable annoying sound. We would let him inside the room, but he plays with the blinds non stop- HELP

Again, they aren't like tape worms. There are really thin. When I tried to wash him, they would come to the surface, and there were little spots all on him, about the size that a needle would make, and they were bleeding. Does anyone know what they are or what I should do until now and the time he goes to the vet?
