My cat's claws are so sharp it's like getting assaulted by 20 Xacto blades and she draws blood, so yeah. Thanks for reminding me to clip her nails today !!!

Oh my yes and I get them all the time since I adopted the two kittens...lately their favorite and my least favorite thing is when the get behind me on my chair at the computer...you should see me...one will grab the back of my shirt and their claws will come through and claw straight down my back breaking the skin all the way down...of course I am yelping in pain...
Make sure you use an antiseptic when you do get a scratch so it will not get infected and especially if a cat bites you. My adult cat bit me one time and it got infected so I wound up going to the doctor to get antibiotics...do not let this happen to you!

It depends on how deep the scratch and how sensitive the skin. There are times when I get scratched by my cats and don't know it until the skin starts itching or my husband points it out. And there are times I notice immediately and cry out in pain.

i do trust me i have two cats a way to prevent it is to 1.if you were playing with your cat try using a string or something that is on a stick thing so you won't get hurt2. if it was a wild cat then you shouldn't really ever bother them unless you know how and if it was a wild cat have some one check it out to make sure that the cat didnt have any bad sickness and gave it to you
hope this helps and like i said it really does hurt OUCH!

Sometimes my cat can scratch me and it is only a superficial wound, but sometimes he scratches me and draws blood. Rocket science tells me it hurts when you bleed.
