i really doubt she's in heat. she's still pretty young... she's and indoor cat and has maaaaannnyy toys... also, she hangs out with a bunch of college girls that dont have any pets so i dont think shes lonely.
shes a really good cat. she has a very sweet disposition and gets along with everyone. ive just never had a cat that talked soooo much before.
at first i thought it was that she missed her family, also, but it's been quite a while now and there's no change.
thanks for the help guys!

How old is the cat? Could be she is going through separation anxiety which is what it sounds like to me. She's araid of being let behind and is needing validation from you that you love her. Pet her and talk to her softly and assure her that you are there and aren't going anywhere. When you do leave, maybe take her with you for awhile in a pet carrier. Just show her that it's okay. She could also be a very talkative little thing but if it sounds like whining, chances are, it is. As long as she is eating, drinking, and using the litterbox normally she is fine.
When female cats are in heat, you will know it! They will be holding their rear ends up to everyone, backing into things with it, meowing a VERY scary sounding meow that is almost never ending, clawing at things, etc.

The constant calls the cat is making could be caused by many things, hunger or loneliness most probably but take the cat to the vet just to be sure there are no health problems.
Also if the cat is use to being outside, being trapped inside when she doesn't want to be can cause a cat to become upset and act out in this manner.Good luck with you new companion, cats can be a blessing in all aspects of your life.

Is the cat outside and wanting in? YOU did not say.. If it is outside and meows a lot that means that the poor kitty is wanting some loving.. and if on the inside. Pick her up from time to time and pet her.. talk to her.. pay some attention to the cat.. They get lonely also and if humans do not talk and pay any attention to them, they meow.. Cats are a person's pet

Some cats are VERY talkative.
Some people prefer these breeds.
Cats Meow for alot of reasons,.. have you tried talking to your cat and calling out when your out of their line of sight?
One thing I am wondering is how is her hearing? On one side it may be dwindleing,.. on the other side if it's normal she may be listening to all the cats within so far away of your home,.. so if you have alot of cats wandering around outside she could be trying to talk to them.
If you REALLY can't handle this,.. if it turns out this is just how they are naturally (like maybe a breed characteristic), then you may want to give her up. It would probably be better to sell her some how so that people that desire a cat like her can have their dreams fulfilled.

It could be anything. Pain, depression, worms, " if so, I got the same problem hear", loneliness. I think it might be loneliness. Maybe she misses her old family. Or maybe she had a horrible past and shes having fears about it. My kitten was from New Orlens. About a month after we got her, she got really scary. She hissed at us, she wouldn't go near food, she lived in the litter box, it scared me. Don't worrie. She'll be find. My cat sufferd depression almost exactly a year ago and she's was felling a whole lot better than she had when we first got her. She got it out of her sisdum. Your cat won't get as scary as mine, but will get over it quick! :-]

Cats in heat talk a lot. Some cats simply talk a lot. If a cat is in pain, it might talk a lot. I would definitely take her to a vet for a checkup, just in case she needs some medical treatment.
A great site to check out for a lot of cat info is

It could be one of many reasons.....she's young, in heat, hyper, nervous, needy, or just one of those irritating cats! Some cats just have that clingy meowy personality...I had to get rid of a cat who did this! I know it sounds cruel; but it was really disrupting our lives! I found her a really good home, though! Ya know Dorie from Finding Nemo? Maybe she's a Dorie....! LOL Good luck!

i have two cats and they always meow when they want attention. Maybe what you need to do is spend a little more time and pay your cats a little bit more attention

she is fairly new to her surounding. is she in heat? try talking to her, maybe she needs some attention to adjust to her new space. Show her love, and secure so she feels safe, just give it time. If you see she might be in pain, take her to the vet.
