So it's probably a ringworm? Can this spread easily to other kittens or humans?

It could be a mild infection, easily treatable. Gently wash it with warm water.. and please, wash your hands every time you touch this little guy. It can spread to the other animals, and perhaps even you.
It could be something worse, in which case, the above still applies.
Take your little darlin' to the vet asap, and have the other animals checked out as well, if the vet deems it necessary.
Good luck to you!

The vet is the best answer. But if you absolutely cannot afford it use a cotton ball soaked in a little hydrogen peroxide several times a day. It sounds like the poor baby has a cold in the eye. Keep him away from the other kittens as it is VERY contagious and can cause blindness if not treated. The vet will probably give you some ophthalmic ointment to put in and on the little guys eye.

Is the area that is red puffy? the fact that he has trouble opening it means the eye is either draining or festering.
If you have a cotton ball put some warm water on it and lightly compress it on the eye, this will loosten up the crust and help drain the eye.
What you are probably dealing with is an eye infection, call your vets office and see if he will dispense a tube of TERRAMYCIN eye ointment. this is an antibacterial ointment made for kitties eyes to help get rid of the infection.

If the kitten is indoors there is probably no reason to be concern with conjunctivitis ( pink eye).

Well first I would take it to the vet if you haven't already and then see what they say because I am not for sure what could be wrong with it.
It could be a ringworm and it could go to other pets and humans so get it to the vet asap.
Well Good Luck on finding out what it is.

If it's part of the inner eyelid, it's most likely conjunctivitis, a minor infection. A common occurence with some cats, and not expensive or difficult to treat, but you need to see a vet ASAP to get the necessary medication.
