Cats are very independent. they don't require as much care as dogs. Cats almost alway come with "built in" house training. With dogs you have to teach them. Cats are smaller and take up less space. Cats don't tend to tear up as much around the house as dogs. Cats are natural pest control devices. No more mice, bugs or spiders! The list could go on forever!

I have 2 cats and a dog currently. Cats are much more independant and don't require a lot of attention, big advantage over dogs who require lots of attention! cats go to the bathroom on their own and are wayyyyy easier to house train than a dog. If you don't feel like playing or being loved on by your animal, a cat will easily go away when you say to where as a dog will most likely keep at it until they get what they want until trained otherwise. I didn't even want a dog until we got ours. I love her dearly but I still see advantages on both sides.

Cats are just easier to take care of. You don't have to take them outside. You can leave them alone for a couple days as long as you have enough food and water down. Try that with a dog and they'll eat it all at once. I had a female cat that lived to be 21. That's unheard of with dogs.

I have an 18 year old what I call "Gramma Kitty", (makes her 90 in cat years) but she is still doing pretty good. And then I have a 2 year old calico baby kitty, sweetest thing - she's a cuddler. Then I have a 2 year old Sheltie - my golden boy. I wouldn't trade them for the world but dogs take more effort as far as you have to let them out and you really can't just leave them for a few days at a time whereas you can with kitties.

Cats are low-maintenance, do less property damage, cost less to care for and live longer.

I like that I don't have to take my cats out for a walk every day. I like that they are small and five or six of them can lay in bed with me at a time. They use a litter box so I don't have to let them out in the middle of the night. They have a healing purr, which, combined with their warm furry bodies, makes an excellent heating pad. They are natural massage therapists and good at soothing sore muscles. They are good at making the best of space in a room, often finding a comfy spot on a shelf, on a piece of furniture or under a piece of furniture. They're good at hiding and very playful.

Though they are independent, they can be trained to do tricks, walk on leashes, come when called and even answer a phone. (Yes, I have a cat capable of answering a phone; she just can't hang it up. No opposable thumbs.)

Cats don't need as much care as dogs. They can be in a house alone. Cats craip in a litter box. Thats one of the best things in compairisen with dogs. Kittens don't get very big when they grow up so their alot less destrution. Cats humor people. They're nut cases. And Who wouldn't love a cuddly, cute fur ball.
Extra, cats carry less fleas and are less on $$$.

Cats have served people since at least 4000 BC. They protected grain and food supplies from rodents. They also helped keep diseases low because they would kill vermin. Cats are a also mummified by the Egyptians because they were such an asset to them.

Cats are independant animals that don't need walked, let out to poop, and can easily take care of themselves for a weekend with a bowl full of cat food and water.
