You need to make that appointment as soon as you can, any vet should recognize this as an emergency situation! Some kinds of worms can cause humans to become sick as well...
Where are they burrowing into him?? My guess would be hookworms...though you usually cannot see them with the naked eye.
Get to the vet ASAP!!!

He needs to see the vet as soon as possible. This is nothing to wait around with. My friend had a cat who had ONE worm burrow under it's skin and it caused a very nasty absess. This made the cat quite ill. Please save your kitten the pain and get him to the vet right away.

Clean him with lukewarm water and mild dish soap use a flea comb to comb the possible maggots from his fur. He should see the vet as soon as you can get him there but the bath should help for now. You can bathe him a couple of times. Good luck

Man TAKE YOUR CAT TO THE VET!!! There are places that take walk ins!!! Especially in a Emergency, which this is. Grab a phone book & look for a 24 hour place. Plus you need to find out what this is in case it can infect you as well!!!

Get him to the vet.....NOW!!!!! Why are you waiting? Call the vet, explain what the problem is. He will be able to advise you and will make room in his schedule for you. If he doesn't, keep trying other vets until you get a satisfactory response.

Well I think you should go to Petco or Petsmart because once you show them what your cat has they will give you some medicine for what he has. In my opinion I think he has flea's. Again take him to Petco or Petsmart!. Toodles!
