By this I mean a microchip like the identity microchips currently available but with a built in tracker so that you can locate a missing pet either through a website or a device or organisation that track them on your behalf. This is needed for a cat who likes to wander and causes days of worry for it's owners! A collar with a tracking device fitted is not suitable as the cat will not wear a collar.

I have two cats. The cat that is overweight just showed up at my house one day, so we decided to keep it since it won't leave anyways. I have tried feeding it less, but then it will just start meowing and wanting food again. It also doesn't like playing, it just likes to sit in your lap and be rubbed. How can I help it lose some weight? I think it might be old by the sound of his meow.

on our balcony...a neighborhood cat climbed up there( we are on the 2nd floor) and attacked her..now she is at the vet for an abscess and other complications caused from it and it is costing me $1400.00 SO FAR. If I find out who the cat belong to...what are the laws in getting the owners to pay for the bill. How can I prove it is thier cat that attacked mine? Should I get photos of it on my balcony? Trap it? Other suggestions?

The cat I am taking care of used to be a fatty. It is now a healthy weight but it has a flappy skin pouch where it used to have a fat gut. Is there any way to get rid of that short of kitty nip tucking? Will it go away eventually by itself?

NO question about it that I'm going to adopt from the SPCA but I'm in the middle of waiting for an Abyssinian cat/kit to appear at the shelter. I already have a 2 yr. old spayed female cat who is a little used to being the only cat of the household. she's been with her brother before and my parents new kitten (both were neutered). so she really has no problem warming up to a new addition. I have the money and time for a new cat but should I adopt one now or not? should I adopt a male or female? either way, he/she WILL be spayed/neutered. my female is strictly an indoor only cat and so will my new Aby. my 2 yr. old is well up to date on all her vaccinations and is very healthy rigth now. my new kitty will be up to date as well. so, should I adopt now? from experience I know that she won't have much trouble him/her but I'm not sure if the new comer will have a problem with her or not? since that is questionable, should I go ahead and get a kitten instead? Thanks!

It was'nt with much force, and barley crushed her head for a moment.
Do you think I need to take her to the vet?
She seems a little shaken and is hiding under my bed.
She never hides!!
She always sits in the window or on the sofa??
What should I do?

Every now and then, my cat will meow really strangely, then go in circles, as if chasing her tail. Shes done that before so when she did it yesterday i thought nothing of it. But then she did one more thing after that-she fell on her side and started twitching really bad-jumping and flopping around like a fish out of water. Then she went real still and just laid there. When she got up there was drool coming out one side of her mouth and blood coming out of the other. What is wrong with her, why is it happening, and how can i fix it?

When I asked about my cat missing I received some compassionate answers and left with a little hope. Why do people go out of their way to dwell on the worst. When worried we do that anyway, I don't know if my kitty is alive or dead, and I don't know if someone is hurting him, I just know that I love him and need to find him, he has been away almost 13 days, I have him in the newspapers, distributed by hand 250 fliers, combed the neighborhoods and left flyers on poles, at the park, at the vet, at the schools, at the library, but one person who is supposedly a Vet Tech for 12 years decided that my cat is dead or run over. Wouldn't you love to have your animal attended to by this *****?
Thanks to all of you who have tried to help, My kitty Dover is lost, and so am I Tess

I've tried using catnip and it doesn't work, I've even tried showing her how to use it but she doesn't like it or something. Also I've put it in a spot where she often scratches.

Whenever I pet my cat for a long time she will eventually grab my hand with her claws (not too hard) and bite me (also not too hard). She never stops purring and will let me keep petting her, but she moves her tail around like she is mad. I don't understand. Does anyone know why she would do this?

He ignores scratching posts but scratches the furniture. He also ignores balls and other toys. He is steadily putting on weight despite only eating one pouch food/day. I need something to keep him active and stop him from getting bored!

what could this be?

i will give you some backround about Nermal.
she is short haired and about 4 mo. old. We found her wandering outside 2 months ago and took her in. we have 1 other cat, he is 6 mo. and they are friends.
normally her poopy is skinny and hard, lately it is runny and full of thick clotted blood and mucus and stinks more than usual. she also has awful breath, when youre petting her you think she's just farting but when she yawns or meows close to your face u know its her breath.

she doesnt seem to be in any pain, eats normally and is playful. I read online that it is most likely worms, so i bought her de-worming medication but havent given it to her yet. my question is, am i right is it worms, and, is she too young for the medication? will it hurt her?

could it be other things? and my last question - are worms contagious, could she give it to the other cat?

thanks!!!

I have two cats, an adult, and a older kitten. When my adult cat was younger sometimes she would go nutso and just run back and forth in the house and meow. She stopped doing that, but now I'm noticing the kitten does it. It's almost always at the same time of day, 10pm. Do all cats do this? Or do I have psychotic cats?
