My cat does that too, he's a kitten 6 months old and very playful in the middle of the night , so i started letting him outside in the back yard for a couple of hours a day , now he sleeps through the night.

she's probably wanting to play my cats pounce on me a lot at night because they see a foot or hand or something move and they take it as a sign that i'm wanting to play... give her a little time and when she gets older this won't be so much of a problem... or try shutting the bedroom door at night to prevent late night pounces (well... from the cat anyway :P )

She is a kitten who does not understand why you sleep when cats are nocturnal hunters who are most active at night. Get up and play!

Seriously, get her a kitten friend so they can pounce on each other instead.

Your cat probably thinks that you're playing a game with her when you lie downe. That's why she pounces at you, because that's the way she plays and wants your attention. I suggest that you give more time of playing with her while your not lying down so that she would understand that you only play when you're awake.

Yeah, she's a few fries short of a Happy Meal. Well not really. She's just a kitten and wants to play. Get her some toy mice or a cat 'tree' to play with so she's not bothering you two at night.

It's possible that your cat is under stimulated. Do you play with her during the day? Is she home alone while you're at work, doing nothing? She may be restless, and demanding in her kitty way for attention.

Cats are nocturnal animals, its perfectly normal for her to want to play while she is wide awake, unfortunately this is in the middle of the night.

Lock your bedroom door if you do not want to be woken up in the middle of the night. I have to do this with my cats, my 9 year old Maine Coon still wakes me up around 3am if I let him in the room.

no cats do that--by her age I see she at the tail end (no pun intended) of being a kitten and will still do "kitten stuff" for a little while yet

You are ignoring her and she wants to play.

With a dog, you are a member of its pack.

With a cat, you are staff.
