My cat seems to have lost her voice, and when she purrs, she makes a strange head movement, like she's choking a little, and licks her mouth. Wondering if she has something stuck in her throat...? She can eat, though... Seems fine otherwise. She kills and eats birds, so am worried about bones in her throat. Am taking her to vet later today (only 5am now), but thought I'd check here first. Thanks.

We picked up a new kitten Saturday, brought her home and introduced her to the one year old kitten/cat, but the older cat hissed at her. The kitten mostly stays in her own room while she gets over this cold, but I've brought her out in the living room a few times a day and the older cat hisses at her. Will this ever stop? They're both females.

He's a year old, we feed him well, we let him out when he wants (can't have a cat flap as we are renting), he's loved, but he meows all the time. He woke me at 3am, I let him out, then he woke me at 4am to be let back in, it's constant, he just doesn't let up and it's driving me to the point where I'm thinking of getting him rehomed. He stalks our other cat and just won't leave her alone, he has to be where she is. I'm SO tired, please help! He's been neutered also.

I have to move, into my mother-n-laws. She said I could bring him. But she is one who would go to our room open the door and let him out of the room and let him outside while we were gone, accidently on purpose. He is declawed and a total inside cat. Even if she didn't we are getting a camper to live in at job sites. Would it be too inhumane to keep him cooped up in the room and the camper ? Also because I love him like my own child, this is emotionally hard. The other choice is to give him to some friends that I know would love him and care for him as we do. so keep or friends or what would you do?

I've had Agent Sushi for almost a week - he comes from a big family of cats and dogs and birds. I only have him. At night, he howls and cries all night. He stays hidden most of the time and won't let me touch him. He's eating and eliminating ok (without watchful eyes), and will play with string, but the minute he gets close to me he runs away. Any advice?

I just got a new kitten, and I noticed that she has 2 little bald spots on her face. It's not really in a circular pattern, and its not scaly. I got her from a breeder, she is a purebred and was very expensive. I am wondering if this is ringworm, or if it could be something else. I am going to call tomorrow to make an appointment at the vet to get it checked out, but I am super paranoid about it and just need to know if there is any other reason why a cat would have bald spots.

I have had my cat (Leia) for about a year and I love her dearly. However I live in student accomondation and it is time to move out and into a proper apartment and they don't accept cats anywhere in Canberra! I looked into group houses and they're the same. I love my cat but i can't let her rule my life, I am also single now so I live by myself and go out a lot and so the cat is sometimes left by itself from like 9am till 9pm or later. I have set a lights to come on when it gets dark but i don't think this is good enough, also when I come home the cat always wants to play but i am never in the mood to play for long (always tired, I work fulltime). At this rate I can't go away without having to board the cat and I feel guilty that she doesn't see me much, but i need my freedom, I am only 21 and not married to my cat, nor do I want to live that way. Should I give the cat up for adoption? Would this be the humane thing to do? I do love and cuddle her and play with her lots, but not enough

she's been doing #1 and #2 on the carpet. it smells disgusting. i can't take it!!! i rarely catch her in the act though. i've tried many ways to deter her. and i've tried many ways to encourage her to use her litter box. she used to use it. the vet thinks she just likes the feel of the carpet better. any ideas?

My cat ALWAYS throws up her food. I don't know why. She isn't depriving herself of anything though (trust me, she's HUGE). She just always throws up. Someone told me that this might have something to do with an allergy to animal protein in most pet foods. Does anyone know anything specific about this?

She's a 5 or 6 year old calico (thrown up her entire life)

These little guys lost their mother after a few days of being born. I took them in at 3 weeks of age (they are now 4 weeks old)

I am trying to find a special name fo reach,s omething that represents their personality, color and their story.

Here is a blog I started to help family keep track of how they are doing. You can take a look to see what they look like.

Gray kitten: he is fast, sneaky, makes me chase him to try to catch him. He eats quite a bit, looks up at me with cutest eyes.

Gray and white kitten: He looks like a she, he has a cute pink nose, he is a big baby, he loves to cuddle, he tip toes on the floor, he sleeps like a rock, we thought he wouldn't make it, but he is doing good and is healthy now.

Ok I just asked 1 question about my new kitten. What questions should I ask the vet about her being a stray if I decided to keep her. What infections and other worries should I ask him about?

I have almost 4 year old cat he has been with me since he was 1 1/2. We had been living in a duplex where i let him go out when he pleased. I also had a 1 year old female. About 2 months ago I moved into a house about three blocks from where my apartment was the male is used to going out so i let him go out after a coulpe days. two days later i get a phone call from my old niebors who say they have my cat. i brought him back home. i repeated the steps about three times but each time he went back. the last time hed been gone for about a month. in that time my other cat was attacked and killed and we addopted a new kitten (3 mo now). we just gott him back and he has a stray mentalitty. my question is how do i get him use to the kitty, is he mad about the old cat that died (they werent close), and short of making him a house cat how do i keep him at my new house not the old one (the kitten is not aloud outside without a leash)?

My Pets are very spoiled and one more would be a pleasure but in order to convience my husband I have to make sure they get along TONITE!!!! She has already used the litter box and ate. She is playing around all by herself. WHAT CAN I DO TO BRING THEM TOGETHER TONITE? Catnip, toys, food, etc HELP

I know cats don't do well with change and they dislike being in new surroundings. my friend has had her since she was about 5 weeks old or so. she's kept strictly indoors and is never allowed outside. I'm just wondering how my friend can help her cat feel more secure in her new area when she finally moves to her new house. she's afraid that when she brings her to her new home, then Lydia will get scared and run away or something bad like that. we know she will probably hide for the first few days or maybe a week or so. we're just hoping that she'll warm up to her new surroundings. how can my friend help Lydia feel better in her new house without getting scared or running away? she's a spayed gray and white domestic medium hair cat. any answers will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
