I have a chicken that may have scaly legs mites. In order to treat him, I have to take him to my house in another state, which is a 2 hour drive. What would be the best way to minimize stress during the trip?

I previously had 2 cardinals coming every morning and night. Not even pigeons are eating the seed.
The regular blue jays aren't coming around asking for peanuts like they used to.
Sparrows and goldfinches are coming around to eat finch food and niger seed.
I bought the black oil seed from a grocery store.

Does anyone have experience with trimming peafowl feathers? I have heard trim the tail. I have heard trim one wing. What part, how much? Trying to keep them in a 10 ft fence. Thanks. -rhino

My mom was getting the birds out to clean their cages and she noticed that one of the birds nails was bleeding. When she got closer she noticed that the birds entire nail was gone. Has anyone ever heard of this and know what we can do for it?

11 years ago I brought home a full grown cockatiel. I didn't know any better at the time and thought I would teach it to sing and sit in my hand. Well, he learned how to sing and talk, but I could never hand feed it or train it ( it almost bit off my dad's finger, my mom and I would feed him) so he would just sit in his cage and whistle and talk. This was in Puerto Rico, where after I moved out, he still is. Now I know better, did my cockatiel research, and have a loving relationship with another cockatiel here in Seattle. Now I'm faced with the decision of trying to bring him home with me to a loving home, or asking my mother to set him free (she recently gave him away to a cousin who was going to try to train him, yeah right!) What should I do. I've been told that in Puerto Rico he'll be happier free in the lush green mountain side surrounded by thousands of fruit trees, but I've been scared he'll get eaten by a snake, of which there are more than plenty! What does anyone recomend?

My question is what type of bird do you hate the most. They have these birds overhear with beady red eyes that are pale grey that I hate. They have black neckbands and coo all the time. Even in Winter they coo and wake people up.

I put the cover on his cage each night between 11-11.30 pm and although he goes on his swing (where he sleeps) he dosent actually sleep until ive gone to bed.

I can hear him cracking his beak and fluffing his feathers, sometimes jumps off the swing, then back on.

He must know im still up and on the computer but i only have a desk lamp on, not the big light, and no music or noise.

We do not know the sex of the other bird. They have had 3 eggs before which after 27 days did not hatch and where yolks only in them.

What do we do with the eggs so as not to upset the birds and also for them not to continue laying?
