I live on a canal, so sound carries. One of my neighbors has a cockatoo.Even the breeders warn buyers of their "nails on the chalk board "screech. I feed lots of birds and love animals but this bird drives me and my husband nuts. I've spoken with the owners but they say their bird has as much right to be outside as we do.The owners put the bird outside, go into their home, close the windows and doors and turn up the music. I've called the police but there is nothing they can do. Any suggestions? thanks...

Bird vote.
I prefer the budgie myself. They are relatively easy to tame and they make interesting pets. I like all birds but the budgie is one of my favourites.

My dad thought it would give them some fresh air. But would it be too cold for them? My last bidgie died and we are not sure whether it was coz it was too cold for him outside. I am scared this budgie will die coz it is too cold for him. Any advice?

I've had my parakeet for about 2 years, he is very friendly and sociable but has never let me hold him or pet him. He sits on my shoulder, eats out of my hand, plays with me, and will sit on my knee while we nap together. But no holding or petting, he just nips at me if I try. Is this just part of his personality? He was hand fed as a baby, so I find this strange.

I am researching the parakeet because I am really thinking about buying one and I was wondering if the tempuratre of the home mattered because some people tell me that they can freeze to death and i would hate for that to happen. Also if you know of any good sites to visit let me know. THanx in advance

The cockatile babies are a week old. They started out with cute little chirps. I thought a snake was in thier room HISSING at them. two days ago. Scared ME. Come to find out its the Babies Making that awful sound. like a crowd cheering in a distance or hissing. Is this normal. Creepy to me. Cant wait for them to chirp again.

Just last week a finch breeder gave me a male and female couple. The hen seems fine but I noticed that the male makes a strange sound quite often. It sounds like a series of squeals. The best way I can describe this sound is by sucking in air through your two front teeth. Is this normal or is this cause for concern?
