Just curious- how long did it take for your birds to "grow up"?

I noticed that it took my oldest goffins about a year to fully wean and get out of the "infant" stage (eventhough he was fully feathered), and then he went thru the "terrible twos" of screaming and chewing on EVERYTHING (which lasted until he was about 3 or 4), and then early puberty (starting at about 4 or 5- in which he began to have favorite "toys" and figured out what "feels good"), and now (age 6 and 1/2) he seems to be actively trying to court and bond (has started to feed me and my boyfriend, is protective of the younger goffins- who is in HER terrible twos, and in general has decided to be a watch-bird).

I'm curious what developmental stages other bird owners have noticed with their feathered friends :-)

I am getting one in the near future and would like to know everything I need for this bird. For example, the cage size and type, supplies, etc.

We have a 2 year old cockatiel that we have had for about two months now.It was a birthday present for my little girl. She has been doing just fine and was great last night when we went to bed. When I woke up this morning I couldn't see her so I went over to her cage and she was sitting on the bottom. She has been there all day and that is not like her.I took her out and it is almost like she cannot walk. She seems to be alert, and she did drink and eat a little for me. I took her to the vet but he said that he could not help me. We do not have any vets for birds anywhere close to us.Please help with any suggestions, my little girls heart is breaking!!!!!!!!!

I just got my cockateil today. She is 5 months old. She is kinda shy and she hisses when I put my hand in her cage but she doesn't bite when I pick her up. She stays in my hand for about 2 minutes then flies away. I just had someone clip her wings about 10 minutes ago.

I ahve 3 different speices of birds, all of them act sorrta weird sometimes....
Fisr, my male dove sits on the bottom of his cage, and he nested(because if you pt your finger, you could tell by his skin)...Is he sopposed to be nesting on the bottom of his cage?(He has Eco-nest down there, also)
And, my my 2 male cokcatiels are afraid of the vaccume...When I vacum around there cage, all they do is nock on things and nod there head alot....Is this normal for them?
And, my last question...In the middle of the night, my 7-8 month old baby budgies(we had them in december, they were parent raised) are mostly all the time sleeping like bats on the top of there cage, they hang themselfs upsidwon, ot even there beak hooked to the top....Ueemmm...Is this okay for them to be doign that? Hvae they just somehow gotten bat genes into them? The parents were checked up before I bought them...

My parakeet, Cindy, keeps logging onto the computer in MY name and sending inappropriate pictures of herself to all my friends. It really insults them and they say I'm a liar when I tell them that I didn't send it. What should I do?

Yesterday my dog attcked a little baby bird and it has a fat scratch under its arm, my mom said to leave it outside and the mommy would come and find it, i went to my friends house then came back, my sister put it in a box with some water, hamster bedding and some of my parakeet food.my dog has killed a lot of birds before but all of them were dead by the time we found them.so we gave this little baby bird some water and it helped a lot!it can't eat seeds or hard things cause it is just a baby.it is in my room and its chirping for food, what should i do?i don't want to call the vet because i am only 13 and i want to re-connect this baby to its mommy, iv'e been crying all night cause i felt sooo bad,my sister and i looked for worms last night and didn't find nothing,it was dark so mabey they were sleeping, i will try again this morning, but the moms regurgatate the food for the babys,so how do i grind up the worm?what else can i feed it?how can i re-connect it with it's mother?
