9 yr old Eclestus Parrot, Male. We got him 3 months ago when his previous owners died. They told us he would stop once he got used to his new home? Should we consider that cone shapped 'muzzel' to prevent him from pulling his feathers?

Hey everyone thanks for taking the time to read my question. I am thinking of buying a Cockatiel Bird when I move. I have had some birds in the past, but they were mean and bit. I want a bird that LOVES,LOVES, LOVES humans that I can hold all the time and does not bite. Can any one give me advice on a bird? I have heard that Cockatiel birds love human attention and are pretty nice.

Indian or other spicy foods cause my eyes to water and burn; will my birds be ok when we cook very spicy foods in the home?
If it is not good for them, what can I do during that cooking time to keep them safe?

I live in Dublin, Ireland and I have a two year old African Grey Parrot. He can talk in a number of languages and imitates alarms and phone tones. Is there any place in or near Dublin which would mind him while I am away on holidays?

I recently purchased a peach-faced lovebird and took time with it and got it to "step-up" then after a couple of weeks, after much patience, was able to get it to hand feed.....then I went back to the pet store for some cage cleaner and the bird that was left was still there and I felt sorry for it so purchased it also....they remembered each other and took right to being together again. So that is the story, and I continue to put my hand in and work on the stepping up and bird two eats from my hand when it sees bird one doing so. But I was just wondering does anyone have any other tips for caring for these birds that I may not have gotten out of the book? Also bird two's feet are a bit grayer than bird one, will it stay that way so i can tell them apart? :) thanks

My 2.5 year old Congo Grey is biting his toenails. He started doing this 1-2 months ago. He chews them until they are razor sharp! My arm is all scratched up from his sharp nails. It hurts for him to sit on my arm.

He is in a large cage and has plenty of toys (including plenty of stuff to chew on) and I rotate his toys every few days. He is on a good diet of seeds, pellets, fruits, veggies. I do work during the day but try to spend as much time as possible with him. There is no point in filing the nails because he'll just "re-sharpen" them the next day. Is this normal Grey behavior? Has anyone had this problem and been able to stop it?
