i have parekeet that not used to eating fresh fruits and veges, i just try to give it to her coz i just learned that i can give fruits and veges to her aside from giving only sunflower seeds, but the thing is i noticed that she makes watery poop after eating those, is it normal? usually her poop is hard or form in composition if she eats only sunflower seeds..im worried, pls help.

Parakeets are native to Australia. They live in large flocks in areas with sparse trees and high grasses, mostly on the ground. They eat grass seeds and other vegetation (they will also eat some insect material and fruit if they find it, but not in large amounts). Sunflower seeds are not grass seeds, they are not actually good for any bird in large quantities. Buy "parakeet" seeds at any pet store or grocery store containing the kinds of seeds parakeets like and makes them healthiest. Use a wooden clothes pin and pin pieces of spinach or a piece of fruit every 2-3 days as a TREAT and remove anything not eaten after a day.

Of course it'll be more watery, fruit is made up of mostly waters and sugars. Don't give too much at a time and it might make the poop more normal. Plus, you might want to give her something besides sunflower seeds, try a mix. Sunflower seeds are very high fat, very fattening. It's also a good idea to give them different sizes of seeds, it helps to keep their brains working.

WOW !! WHAT ARE YOU DOING ?? Why Are You Feeding SUNFLOWER Seeds To A Parakeet ? OK, why don't you try going to a local pet shop and get your bird Parakeet Seed. Your bird will love you for it and will live longer.
NOTE : Veges, will and might cause "Watery Poop" so please DO NOT feed him that every day.
And What Ever You Do ,"DO NOT " feed him only Sunflower Seeds. That Will Kill Him.
So " RUN " To Your Local Pet Store And Get Your Bird " PARAKEET SEED "..

Doesn't everyone get watery poop after eating lots of fruit?
I think that once he gets used to the change in diet, he'll be okay.

yeah, its more normal for it too have watery poop. it will get used to it and make hard deposits.

Yep..
Don't feed you bird too many seeds & nuts, it will give them fatty liver disease and kill them..
