I also just got a baby cockatiel 2 weeks ago. Her fater was a lutino (all white) and her momma is pied. She is a lovley pale yellow, with light gray and yellow feathers that look like lace on her wings, she has deep moroon eyes. You can not tell by looking at these guys if they ware a girl or a boy. Get a DNA test, or wait to see if you can tell my thier behavior.

It sounds like your baby is a cross between a yellow and a white (somewhere in her background). The eyes are from the white heritage. She is not an albino..........as they are completely white with red eyes. If she is still a baby - at this stage there is no way of knowing if she is a she or a he unless the bone test is given. It's a simple test. E-mail me and I will describe it in detail for you to do.......

No she's lutino. Albino's are called whiteface lutinos. Lutino's lack the grey colouration and whitefaces lack yellow and orange. I have a whiteface lutino...(albino)

More than likely it's a female because you actually need a male and a female lutino to get a male lutino. Tiel genetics are difficult...it takes years to understand it completely and even then it can get confusing.

DOES YOUR COCKATIEL HAVE THE ORANGE CHEECK MARKING? IF SO THAT IS A LUTINO COCKATIEL. [LUTINOS HAS RED EYES AS WELL. I HAVE A MALE LUTINO NAMED SILAS] IF NOT YOU HAVE AN ALBINO. IF IT IS STILL A BABY, IT MIGHT STILL TAKE SOME TIME TO GET THE RIGHT BREED OF TIEL.

Your cockatiel variety is called a LUTINO. Make sure you give her a lot of attention, Lutinos seem to need more than other color varieties.
