I think it is a primitive, hideous practice that should be made illegal. Open the door and what does it try to do? It obviously knows where it wants to be.

I have tried rewarding him and he still screams,I never yell back at my parrot and have been very calm around him,he seems to be more quite when i leave the room but when i get back Oh Boy! lol

I have an idea what might be causing him to scream but I want a seperate opinion.

Ps I have a female eclectus(4 years old) so I have experience with my more mature bird.

Any ideas would be really helpful!

I read that some birds are a bit more tame and calm if they're hand raised by humans. But I could use a few tips from someone who has done this before, just for future usage.

No jokes of wisecracks please. Only answer if you've hand raised birds or if you know of someone who has done it.

Thanks!

My friend named my old one "Zero" which I thought was a dumb name. Just give me a plethera of names off the top of your head fit for a parrot.

I am worried that she will be very mad when I have my baby. She has already become agressive toward me just from the first month of pregnancy. Where as six months ago she was loving toward me. She used to coo and rub her face on mine. Now she just bites my face whenever i look at her. Is this temporary? Or will she think of harming my baby. She has only ever liked me. She hates men, and she is even agressive towards my 4 and 5 year old.

I got some birds (parrots, finches, canaries) in cages in a gazebo that keep getting eaten by cats in the evening. Thjey sneak in over the fence and find ways to open up the cage or pull them out between the bars. They have killed several already. Is there a way to get rid of them? Any kind of poison that I can use or is there a safe method?

I mean, sometimes ironically they can be good pets, and other than the fact that they give eggs while theyre still alive and they arent dangerous, why is it that its okay to kill them?
