I mean, sometimes ironically they can be good pets, and other than the fact that they give eggs while theyre still alive and they arent dangerous, why is it that its okay to kill them?

Please be nice. How would you feel if you were a chicken?

To fulfill human nutritional needs...We are omnivorous, meaning that we eat both vegetable matter (including fruits, nuts) and MEAT!
Chickens are raised for 3 primary purposes: To propagate more chickens...To produce eggs (for eating)...To be butchered for consumption.
So, no, it's not wrong to kill chickens...it's their destiny!

We're the top of the food chain, dear -- if it's nourishing and tastes good, there's nothing wrong with killing it to keep ourselves alive and healthy. That's what all carnivores, humans included, do to nourish themselves: kill other animals and eat them. Chickens may at times be "cute," or good pets, but they're also compact, tasty sources of protein -- that's good eats! Why would you think it's *not* OK to kill them?

I am a vegetarian myself, and my morals tell me that it is wrong to murder for food. Taking a ife is killing, and killing is murder. Therefore meat is murder. However, I do agree that a lot of animals are only bred for food. I may have thought about eating them, if they were not bred, kept and killed in the same way as they are. I will never eat meat, however now, as you cannot ever believe that organic and free-range on the front of food packets is actually the truth.

Well I dont find it strange in anyway when someone asks this question considering the fact that WE ARE SOOO CONSCIOUS ABOUT ANIMALS,WILD LIFE and their existance...and here we are killing millions of chickens every year...I guess then it would be justified for lions to eat dears or eagles to other animals...The problem is that its not about GOOD or BAD, its how the FOOD CYCLE goes...and apart from that if it werent for chckens we wud never have MCDONALDS and KFC...THINK ABOUT IT....

Nature plays its role in this case. One creature eats the other to make itself surviving.Let me give you an example. We kill chicken to get meat as food, the chicken kills insects and plants to get food, and even insects among themseves kill each other to get food. All living creatures live in symbiosis! And finally nature puts everything balanced and peaceful living. God is great!

Well, then what kind of food would we eat? Generally chickens are killed when they get old and stop laying eggs.

It is okay to kill chickens in self defense. Also, they are slightly less intelligent than cabbages.
