Actually, in the business, they are usually referred to as "Babies".
You just don't hear them referred to as "chicks" very often.
There are also slang terms that have popped up.
You sometimes hear the expression:
"Bappie" as in "baby parrot".
And people who have parrots will occasionally refer to their birds as their:
"Fids" ....as in "feathered kids".

baby parrots are chicks... or when they're JUST hatched, some people call them hatchlings or neonates... but chick is the common name.
