Non-native birds have different parasites, and when they are introduced to native birds they create problems.

It can endanger the non-natives that are brought here. Many of the pet birds that come here are brought over through the black market. Some birds are taken right out of the rainforest and can lead to the decline of those species in their native habitat. Many birds are bred for the purpose of being pets, but do people really know for SURE where their pet birds are from....especially those bought at pet stores. Who knows how they got into this country!!

Pets invariably get loose into the ecosystem.

Yes to the above.
Also, the non-native birds could get loose someplace where they don't belong.
It's an old story with invasive species.
