What is the easiest way to incorporate fruits and veggies into their diet? I know a variety is best but mine (I have 2) simply ignore the parsley and thawed frozen veggie mix I give them. Also, what are some veggies that you think they would like or would be the best to start out? Thanks :)

I was on my lunch break at work and found a pigeon laying on the ground... kinda on it's head... with it's back legs stretched out behind him... kinda thought he had a leg broken... but i put on some gloves and he could move them... so i tried to get him to fly... he ran straight into a wall and fell back on his face... so i took him home and put some water in a dish and put him in a plastic tote with a holey piece of cardboard over him... anyone know what could possibly be wrong ? i found him under a window... kinda thought he ran into it... figured if he did... he just knocked him self stupid and will recover in a couple days... anything i can do for him and any thing specific i can feed him ?

Does anybody think they can tell if my cockatiel is a female or male? My bird is 9 weeks old and makes high pitched chirp, squeaks, and weird chirps. The bird loves to sit on my sholder, pick up things and carry them around and drop them. Still a little bit nippy has a bright yellow crest, yellow tail feathers, has grey and yellow face but hasn't had its first molt yet. Has a light orange cheek patch loves to explore new places and get head scritches.. Is it too early to tell? What sighns will tell me if its a male or female?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any online bird supply stores that have a wide variety of products (for small birds as well as large birds)? I already know about Fosters & Smith. I wanted to know if anyone had good luck with a different place. Thanks in advance.

Hello i have a cockatiel that is 4 monthes old, i am sure that she(maybe he) is molting. My question is.... Do birds get grumpy when they molt?

Also, She is almost solid yellow, with a little very light grey feathers on her wings, it seems that some of her new feathers are coming in also a very light grey (maybe cinnimon) replacing some of the yellow on her back and neck, is this normal?

Thank you for helping me out today!

Im remodiling my house and im really worried for my birds. They look skinner. I put food and water and i change their cage and i take very good care of them. But im worried that they are afraid of the sounds that the workers do, and im afraid they are sick from the dust and all that. What should i do? PLEASE HELP!

this is a wonderful site for all birdkeepers from around the world the question today is are you AMERICAN? then when you ask a question give a zip code ( or a post code as in great britian) i you may find other birdkeepers living not far away, this would be a chance to visit, see different birds in different enviroments but most important you will all learn from each other.

Hi, I was given a 6 week old budgie a few days ago. She lets me put my hand in the cage to stroke her, and doesn't seem to be scared of me. When i'm not in the room I hear her scrambling around, and then find her hiding underneath the newspaper at the bottom of the cage. She hasn't chirped once since I got her either, but she's eating and drinking fine.

Is this normal behaviour for a baby? I'm assuming she's hiding because she's scared.

Thanks
