I have no idea if it's cruel....but it sure is freakin' funny.

Well its not cruel but not the best way to handle a chicken. It is not very comfortable for the bird and there is an increased likelihood of an accident occuring. It is better handled by holding it under both wings very close to the body with one hand and using the other hand to support it around the region of its breast.

i'm taking it you hold the chicken upside down. well typically it isn't very good to hold ANY creature by the legs.
1. it may go dizzy. serious. the blood rushing to the brain and all.
2. the legs may not be thick enough to hold the body weight! use like, physics laws to calculate it.

Poor thing. For how sweet animals they are, just cup her between your hands, and close to your chest. They are docile enough to avoid handling them by the legs, and scarying them in an unnatural position.

No chickens are inspected hanging upside down. When the blood runs to their head they become lethargic and quit flopping around which keeps them from injuring themselves.

no this is how your supposed to hold them so they aren't wiggling around they could hurt them self this way. it keeps them immobile, and easy to transport from cage to cage
