For those who have ever owned or been arond Borzoi, how are they typically? I really want one but I don't know how they are really. Any negtative aspects about them?

i already have a five gallon hex aquarium that i got from walmart where i work. i was talking to another employee and he was enthused about my new hobby, so he gave me his 55 gallon aquarium (free) :) im looking for a bunch of different fish to put in there. so far ive been thinking some glow light tetras, khuli loaches and some ghost shrimp but i wanted to be assured of their compatibility so basically im open for any suggestions i did a bunch of googling and got tired of searching for answers.

the reason im so concerned and all is because i have two dwarf gouramis in the five gallon and i dont want all my fish fighting especially not my betta. so far the gouramis have left gillis alone and he chases them around the tank when they get too close but so far minimal nipping. also any cool plants to add to this new tank would be nice. hope all that made sense lol. thanks in advance.

I gave her a bath about 2 days ago! I have no idea how she gets dirty because there is no way. she has a limited place to be outside, so she cant go wandering off and getting into things.

How can I make sure she stays smelling good?

I'm considering getting a new pet sometime in the next couple months and sugar gliders are on my list of 'maybes'. But I want to make sure I can legally own one in Georgia. If they are not legal, can I obtain a permit?
I've googled this question and have found conflicting answers.

First of all, what is crate training? Then how do you crate train a puppy? How is it useful? I know i can just search this on internet, but i find it easier to understand and more helpful from answers from yahoo answers, because there are varieties of answers from different ppl's view and opinion.

we rescued this cocker spaniel mix and we saw he needed a good cleaning, but then we saw his mouth at home. His breath literally smells like the sewer. his teeth are grey and his gums are covered in I don't know what.. but it's grey and really nasty in there. It looks like his gums are rotting. we brushed his teeth, but his gums seemed to hurt obviously. This dog was covered, i mean covered in fleas, a vinegar and water and dog shampoo killed all of those.. :) are there any home remedies for his gums? teeth? even if we have to take him to the vet for his teeth, is there anything they can do to reverse this? Can I do anything at home to help this??? please let me know if there is anyone dog rescuers that have dealt with this before.... i need help! so does he!

My dog was just lying down, in her bed, and then all of a sudden, she looks like she is choking. I really do not know how dogs cough, does this sound like a cough to you? She was at home all day, and was not near any other dogs. But she seems fine for one second, then the next, it is back to that hacking/coughing/sneezing sound. I am worried and do not know how I can stop this. All of our vets nearby are closed (It is 4:00 am here), so please do not tell me to drive to one. I just want to know what the problem could be, and how I can stop it. Please no rude answers, i just want to find out what is wrong with my 7 year old.

Okay, my friend loves dogs and everytime he gets one, his dad always kicks it out of the house! Now, my friend is babysitting this adorable puppy and if he takes good care of it, the owners will let him keep it! The bad thing is his dad might not want it and if he lets him have it, when it's old enough to stand on its own he'll kick it out! It's like a cycle of getting rid of dogs! This puppy might be the 8th dog to leave! What should my friend do?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my dog is a long hair chihuahua and is almost 2 years old. he seems to always need to have his mouth occupied. weather it is with a finger, the corners of furniture, anything that is around him. i try closing his mouth with my hands then yelling at him *bad biting!* he wouldn't listen. he just bites my hands way harder then ever!he has sooooo many chew toys it is hard to count them all! his biting is ruining our friendship. i cant have people over without worrying he will bite them! please please help!!

My discus tank has just become infected with ich after introducing a new fish. I'm treating it but I'd like to completely prevent this from happening again.
Would adding a UV sterilizer to the tank accomplish this? Are there any negative effects associated with it? I don't know much about them, but I thought it kills all the bacteria. I have a Fluval filter with bioballs in it, so the UV shouldn't kill any of the bacteria that is living in there, right?

She doesnt seem to be in any pain, and plays normal and wags her tail when she comes in, but every single time we walk her at night time, she takes a really long time to go, and she stays close by me in a half sitting position with the tail tucked under between her legs. Does anyone know why she may be doing this? She does her business, but it can take a long time for her to go.

my german sheperd dog 8 yrs of age died, i am not satisfied as to the circumstances of his death in the vets clinic, where he was for 7 days,my info was the vet was absent from the clinic for more than 1/2 of that time, however I need another dog,nothing except a GS, what must I look for or seek info as to what to ask or look for in purchasing a pup. I must admit that I am not so educated in raising dogs, but i am willing to learn, i started late to love dogs as pets and guards.

I have a 2 year old Australian Cattle dog, and he is a character. He will put boxes on his head, dress up in clothes, jump into the pool at 3 in the moring then come get back in bed with you. One time he was in a realy deep sleep, and my kitten was licking him, and he twitched so much he fell of he bed. He is always running into walls/doors, when I open the garge door, he charges for it, and usually always hits his head on the door cause it isn't open enough for him.

He is a one of a kind dog, and he is hilarious. but no one ever believes me cause he is afraid of people. how can I get him to not be timid around other people, my belgian malinois LOVES people, but he jus tgoes and hides. I really need help especially since I have company coming for Christmas, and I don't wan him hiding and or barking/growling the entie time.

I have a 10 month Siberian Husky and he is the best dog ever; however, since daylight savings time has taken effect there is not enough sunlight to take him to the park by the time I get home. He used to be able to be left uncrated in the apartment and not destroy the apartment like he does and just play with his toys. We give him new toys almost every month. Anyhow, he has pulled my Xmas tree down three time chewing all the ornaments, chewing up anything he can get his paws on. I was wondering if getting another puppy would help curb this misbehavior when I am gone at work? I have been thinking about getting him a playmate as everyone I know says it would help, but will it really? Before anyone decides to be smart about obedience he is AKC good canine citizen. He does not act up when I am home, but when he is home alone. So, I'm wondering if he would be less bored and happier if he had a friend or if it would just be double the trouble?

I have this 4 inch long gecko and this 4 inch painted turtle and the turtle has always lived seperately, the gecko has always lived with another lizard but this lizard recently died, now he is depressed, can i house these 2 reptiles together?
