I'm considering getting a new pet sometime in the next couple months and sugar gliders are on my list of 'maybes'. But I want to make sure I can legally own one in Georgia. If they are not legal, can I obtain a permit?

HI there...sugar gliders are consider illegal in the state of Georgia. Special permits may be able to be given, however you will need to contact the following number to see if you qualify: Special Permit Unit at 770-761-304

My suggestion would be to contact the game warden. If you don't know the number or can't find it in the phone book, call your local law enforcement agency and ask. They should have the phone number or be able to connect you with someone who does.

Yeah. I live in Georgia. My mom had one once. But it died. They are very vicious creatures! It tried to bite me when I was little. But yeah I guess if you really want to have your heart broken, then buy the dang thing.
