Appx. 8", adult. Just did a complete tank cleaning.
It's not eating like it should (Pellets). Stools are normal size and consistancy, color. Kept in 60 gal.
aquarium with submers. filter. Using a full spectrum light over basking area. Could it be an infection or am I keeping the water too cool? It's still active and quick, not lethargic. Please help!

My 13 YO female Turkish Van has been deaf for years (maybe her entire life... she only came to us 8 years ago). She has recently gone blind -- her eyes no longer dialate but are big and black with only the tiniest area of green at the bottom. It is TORTURE watching her bumping into things and we're doing everything we can to help her adjust, but I'm wondering if anyone has any secrets/advice for helping her. Her health isn't great-- she is in the early stages of kidney failure and we're dealing with that now too -- but she doesn't seem to be in any pain or suffering so putting her down is NOT an option. I'm doing the vet thing; I'm just wondering if there's advice from real people/cat lovers that might make my Starlight's life happier/easier.

Any help/advice/shared experiences would be appreciated!

Laur

One of my friends mentioned at the weekend that she never talks to her dog,......!! I thought how sad.

I always talk to my cat, and I think in his own way (!!??) he appreciates it.

What do you think?

I've been looking for an American cream draft, so i was browsing on dreamhorse, however couldn't find one for sale, anywhere i could get one help?

Right main question, i was on dreamhorse and i noticed that they sell zebras, so i had a look and there was a picture of someone riding the zebra, but i just doesn't seem normal to me. I know horses came from the wild and we ride them, but zebras! i don't know its a bit bizzare. Does anyone have a zebra? I can see the novelty of riding a zebra, but why would you really? what do you guys think, would you wouldn't you and why?

Or just comment on the subject.

Myself i'd never want to ride or own a zebra, i guess i never really thought about it though...thanks!

Oh heres the advert i saw, sorry if its some one on here and there zebra, no offence meant: http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/1/18/300px-Mars_celebrations.jpg

they site sell zorses too:http://dreamhorse.com/show_horse.php?form_horse_id=1092773

My pig has gotten quite sharp nails, and they are long.

Are her long nails painful? I don't know what to cut them with.

If I do cut them, will she be in any pain?

This one is going to be a bit controversial:

What do you think of people owning dogs who work? I see questions and/or answers that are amazingly critical of people owning dogs that work full time. Why is this? Do you agree? Disagree? Let's hear both sides of this one.

As always, let's be nice to one another on this question. While you may not agree with the person, or their opinion may make you angry, let's try not to give thumbs down. Let's have a civilized debate. =)

Thank you for answering.

It seems people don't agree with me on this, so I wanted to doublecheck and make sure that I'm not wrong.

I have two dogs. A 2 year old cocker spaniel, and a 8 week old shih-tzu mix.

When we housebroke my cocker, we used the crate training method, but we never left him crated if we thought we might be gone more than 4 hours. Instead, we gated him into a small room. He housebroke easily that way. The reason we didn't keep him crated when we left is because I think it's kind of cruel to leave a dog crated for more than a couple hours, and in the off chance we couldn't make it home for lunch to let him out and exercise him, I didn't want him stuck there.

Since I'm starting the process all over again with my new puppy, I wanted to check and make sure that I'm not messing up, since so many people seem to disagree with my method. Is it, in fact, acceptable to leave a dog locked in a crate all day?

I've never had a cat, so I don't know how to procede with this. Yesterday I heard like a baby was crying, but it was a cat that apparently was fighting with another one. I don't know if the cat could have a disease or something but I would like to give the cat some food because today is still there, waiting perhaps for the other cat? Any thoughts please?

They won't leave! I found the fleas 2 weeks ago, used a flea comb and drowned them in soapy water, then applied Advantage and used IGR spray all over. Later, I washed bedding, towels, etc. and vacuumed like crazy (couches, rugs...). Now, I just found some adult fleas on him! This time he has hardly any of the "flea dirt" that I found before - so it seems much milder - but I'm afraid I can't get rid of them. He's always been an indoor cat, too!

Can I reapply Advantage only 2 weeks later? It was the right dose for his size last time and I used the whole tube. Also, is it possible that giving him a flea bath with BioSpot just one day after the Advantage lessened its effectiveness? (I was being neurotic and wanted to bathe him in case. Boy, did he hate it!) And should I have used a bomb instead of just the spray? I tried to be really thorough with the spray but could have missed something.

Any advice or help would be great. My kitty is my baby and I hate to see him scratching. Thanks!

At the moment, my block has a problem with field mice and bugs - so just a couple of days ago, I saw a small mouse in my basement, and it totally freaked me out! Like my house is spotless, and I see this small gray mouse - and it's a problem with the whole street right now .....

Where my dad works they have a cat - well, the cat is pregnant - so my dad thought that maybe when the cat gives birth he will take a kitten for the house - i'm just wondering if kittens chase mice and bugs?? Also, at what age should the kitten be for us to adopt one? And how should we prepare for its arrival?

I got a 10 wk old pup. she has been whinning at night. I know she misses her brothers and sisters. But what can I do to stop or ease this? I have another dog as well, would she seek comfort in my other dog? How long does the whinning typically go on for? is the crate whats causing the issues? would it be better if I let her have the bathroom or is that worse?

There is something I'm confused about. There are so many people out there that are absolutely AVID about having pets fixed. God says it is a sin to alter the body in any way. We are supposed to be burried whole. We aren't even supposed to donate our organs. So, what makes you think it's okay to alter your pets? Don't they deserve to be burried whole as well?
