If they grow too big they can grow into her feet and yes that would be very painful. They sell nail clippers at pet stores. You could take her to the vet and ask them how to show you how to do it.

I have around 30 guinea pigs. My favorite thing to use for nail trimmings is a pair of human cuticle "nippers." They are easier to use and can get around larger, thicker nails of older guinea pigs. As has been said, the danger is cutting too close to the quick. Keeping styptic pens (drug store) on hand in case of a nick is a good idea.
When I need to trim the nails, I wrap the piggy, burrito-style, and offer a treat, like a baby carrot. Pull one little foot out at a time and trim. The carrot usually keeps the piggy occupied enough that by the time he realizes he should be angry, it's over. Sometimes, the really wiggly ones require another set of hands. The other person holds the pig, and then you can trim the nails.

Bring her to an exotics vet and ask her to show you how to clip your piggies’ nails. Once you know how, it's a simple procedure that can be done with a pair of small dog or cat nail clippers. Also, Guinea Pigs should have a rough stone in their cage in order to maintain their nails. They should also have a friend... but I guess that's another subject.

We trim our little guy's nails when neccessary but we only take the very tip off. Having 1 person hold the guinea pig while the other does the trimming helps a lot.

You cut them with cat nail clippers. It isn't painful as long as you don't cut the vein going through the nail. If you aren't sure you can do it take your piggie to a vet.

Guinea pigs nails need to be cut every 3-4 weeks.
This website will explain how to cut them, and what to use.

You can get bricks to put in your cage, to try to wear them down, but doing this still requires nail trimmings.

you can trim them with special sissors (i think we used my dog nail clippers?) but you want to be VERY VERY careful!!! otherwise, just like a dog's nails they bleed and it is painful!
ask your vet, and they can probably do it for you/show you how.
in the future try to let your guinea pig run on a hard surface (pavement, outside with some stones..) so that they naturally wear down. we used to cut out the bottom of a kiddie pool (those plastic ones) and put our guinea pig inside it outside on the grass in the spring/summer (supervised of course, because after a while he learned to semi-jump it... plus to keep dogs/hawks away) really good for excersize, fresh grass and to reduce boredom.

I'm a guy, and personally, I don't like long nails. I actually know a lot of like long, painted nails cause they're "so pretty", but I don't like them.

A little bit of toenail is fine... but I agree along with you. Long nails are kinda major.

If you let them run around on concrete they will wear the nails down. If you don't want to cut them your vet will. It does not hurt them as long as you don't cut to close to the base.
