It says "Your dog is constantly barking all day long. It's really annoying the whole neighborhood. Please do something about it." My dog is a 2 1/2 yr old German shepherd with separation anxiety. I know he barks, but if I left him in the house, he'd tear the whole place to pieces. He is a watchdog, and I'm not going to start crate training him now. My husband and I both work full time, and the dog is outside from 8am-4pm every weekday, but when we get home, he's in the house with us all the time. What is the worst case scenario of what they can do, legally? I should add, the losers who are complaining are unemployed druggies who set their own house on fire back in May, and sleep all day long, then sit on their patio all night with their derelict friends, smoking dope and laughing like retards. Should I worry? What can I do?

I want to adopt a rescue dog and they have forms that fall under the "catch 22" category. You can't have one of their dogs UNLESS you've owned a dog before! What if you're a first timer?

I have started dog-sitting for a friend who recently got a 2-year old male Vizsla from the pound. It is probably not a pure-bred, but the appearance and personality traits are dead-on.

The dog is very friendly and generally well-behaved when I am at home with it, but if I leave the house (work, store, etc) I usually come back to find things knocked over or pulled off counters and tables. I believe the dog is being disruptive to get attention and in protest of being left alone (it is a bit clingy - common for Vizslas).

I don't have much experience with Vizslas, but several websites mention that they are very sensitive dogs (emotionally) that do best with positive re-enforecement while strong negative punishments can actually make the situation worse (see link below).

My question is how do you make the dog know that misbehaving when left alone is not OK?

She does not cry when walking or going downs stairs. She also cries when I ask her to sit up and beg. She won't, not normal for her. Now when she goes down stairs she won't even try to go back up, she just looks at me like, "who are you kidding mom"!

I think my gecko has shed and his toes are still white. he has lost one toe in the past and I dont want it to happen again.
He has a humid hide and heat but it seems colder in his tank during the winter. how can I help him with shedding?
I was thinking of putting him in one of those "cricket keepers for an hour with a moist paper towel on the bottom and turn on his heat light for moisture, as I've heard this works, but it seems almost cruel as my gecko hates to be inside it and always tries to get out even though its one of those "large" cricket keepers. what do you think?

There have always been many cats in my backyard, and whenever winter comes, my heart breaks for them. There is this one cat in particular, who is so friendly, and my neighbor takes the cat in sometimes. He said he was going to build the cat a little house for the winter, but I just came home from work and there is nothing there, but the cat. I pet her and she was cold. I brought out a towel, but that will not do anything really. Do you have any ideas as to how to keep stray cats warm?

My wife made the mistake of bringing in a stray cat with the intention of taking it to a humane place to have it adopted out. After she did this she called all the places in the phone book that handle felines and they said they are all full. A couple said they have to put them to sleep if they get them because of them being full. That is no better than the pound. I told her to put it out again. Is that the right thing to give it a fighting chance or take it where it will be killed. As of two minutes ago it is still outside our door where it has been since we put it back out two days ago.

I'm making a video to show that rescued dogs make great pets. I've already received some pictures and stories, but I want more! I know there are lots of rescued dogs that have saved lives, either by fighting off bears or by wagging tails at the right time.

Please tell me your story!

I have a 5 year old American Bulldog/Pitbull mix. He is deaf so he sleeps ALL day! My husband wants to get another dog so that he has a friend to play with and stay active. I really do not want the responsibility of new puppy right now. I am thinking about putting our dog in "doggy daycare" but it is quite expensive (around $16/day). I think 1-2x a week might be OK. I am just not sure though if Doggy Daycare is actually worth it. Does anyone know?
