Well... the biggest problem is that most people have no idea how to care for these. Most of the 'common knowledge' techniques are just plain wrong.

Turtles like this need three things basically:

1. Good water. Figure 10 gallons of actual water per inch of shell length. Warm the water to 75-80F with a good heater.Keep the water clean with a powerful external filter rated for a tank about 3 times bigger than the tank used.

2. Good sun. Offer an accessible dock, ramp, log, float, etc. that the turtles can get onto easily and safely (avoid rocks). The basking site should be warmed to 90F, and the basking area and tank should be lit attractively- with some shaded spaces for hiding. Using UVB lighting will really help as well.

3. Good food. Offer 1/2 good pellets, and 1/2 live or frozen/thawed 'fish foods' like worms (babies like blood worms), insects, small fish, krill, shrimp, etc. You can also use beef heart, etc. Variety is good.

A lot of baby turtles sold, especially cheap ones (Chinatown, swap meets, etc.) are often sickly to start with.

You should also know that we figure it takes about $150-200 to set up a good habitat- mostly the large tank and filter.

pink earred sliders dont hibernate. I have 3. They each and each are about the dimensions of a saucer. attempt feeding them tetramin which has a huge volume of the supplements and minerals they want. make certain the heating lamp is on hi sufficient basically so they have skill to flow and also make certain they have sufficient room to flow round, swim, and solar bathe. The turtles want the user-friendly to help them improve wisely. in the adventure that they havent shown any obtrusive issues incorrect with them then the vet somewhat cant do some thing. the gained't do some thing for your turtle when they die if its no longer some thing of route showing incorrect with them (cracked shell, damaged hand etc). I change into hoping I helped and that i wish the finest of success to you and your turtles.

It depends on the cleanliness of the tank. Actually my cousin has about 3 and his have been alive for about 1 month. Their tank isn't exactly clean. Try not to feed them too much. 1-2 times a day is enough.
Also make sure you clean their shells it is very necessary. There Shells can get to dirty and that will cast death of the turtles.

Madkins has some great info on this. Make sure you're turtles have a basking site!

Also, what have you been feeding them? Have you seen all of them eat?

try raising the temperature higher [80 degrees]. do they have a basking area? The light would be good for them. feed your turtles in a separate container.
