You need to take her to the vet NOW!

I had a kitty that did the same thing. Your kitty needs cortisone. You can try the over the counter 3 in 1 but you will have to find a way to keep her from licking it. A trip to the vet is the best thing so she can get diagnosed properly. She may need the shots.

There are a few issues in your request that need to be looked at.
She has been scratching a lot and has chewed her tail raw....have you never had an itch that no matter how hard you scratched it just got worse and worse?
you should have done something about this a long time ago - way before the tail got chewed raw. Your cat is probably in AGONY nd needs to be seen by her vet immediately. SHe is in pain and discomfort and it probably makes it worse to move around. She can be treated but needs to have this done NOW!!!! The treatment will take some time as she has gotten to this awful abused ( yes abused) state.

The other thing that really bothers me is you say she is throwing up "more than usual". If a cat is throwing up she needs veterinary attention. I wonder how long this has been going as as you seem to think it is usual for her to throw up and only now it is getting bad

Please please please take your cat to the vet NOW!!!! She deserves to be able to stop the suffering she in enduring and the treatment is probably quite simple ( although as I said before will be more intense because of the utter neglect she has experienced

If your cat used to be an outdoor cat, and for the past year has been living in a house (dry heat/AC), then she could just have dry skin, that got irritated, and she's chewed herself raw. If you take her to your vet, he can give her a shot for the itch, and some antibiotics for the infection that she's probably developed from constantly scratching. How would you feel, if YOU'D been having this problem and no one had done anything to help you? Your cat needs veterinary care ASAP, and at 14, she DESERVES to be helped! Good luck..........

The scratching and throwing up could be due to a food allergy. The fact that she she is acting sick means she needs to be seen by a vet immediately.

When I was younger,we had a dog with a problem similar to the one you have descibed.I'm not saying it's the same thing your cat has,but his blood kept over-heating.The vet gave him blood-cooling tablets, and they worked.

Your cat probably has either flies, lice, or has a skin problem. Probably just dry skin, but you should go check with your vet to make sure it is not cancer or anything serious.

BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T TAKEN HER TO THE VET! Because you are lazy and irresponsible. That's why! It is her RIGHT by law to receive proper medical care and to deny it repeatedly as you are doing is abuse. Stop wasting time on the computer talking to unqualified strangers (who have never even seen your cat!) and get that cat TO THE VET!
