Dear Dogs,

The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by Schumacher and is not a racetrack Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, growl, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years -- canine attendance is not required.

The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog's butt. I cannot stress this enough!

To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our front door:

To All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit & Like to Complain About Our Pets:

1. They live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. (That's why they call it 'fur'niture.)
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.

Remember: In many ways, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:
1. Eat less
2. Don't ask for money all the time
3. Are easier to train
4. Normally come when called
5. Never ask to drive the car
6.Don't hang out with drug-using friends
7. Don't smoke or drink
8. Don't have to buy the latest fas hions
9. Don't want to wear your clothes
10. Don't need a 'gazillion' dollars for college.
And finally,
11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children.

She is hyper all day, running after the cat, jumping on everyone she meets in her way, jumping on her coaches and playing with her toys for hours. I walk her a full hour everyday and I play fetch with her for 30 minutes in the evening and still she is so hyper that she keeps running, out of breath, drinking every 5 minutes and if I am talking to someone she becomes jealous and she becomes aggressive and will try to bite and bark until I give her attention. I know that most of you will say that she needs obedience training, which I might end up giving her, but at the moment, I WANT TO KNOW IF ALL THIS HYPER BEHAVIOR CAN AND WILL AFFECT HER HEART IN A NEGATIVE WAY??? Can she have a heart problem if she keeps going like this?

He's 15 and I've never loved a dog more. He's really smart and loves our family a lot. He's been there to cheer me up when NO ONE was around. But...
He hasn't been diagnosed with anything severe. My family and I have just heard some speculations about his unusually shaky legs. It's hard for him to stand for more than 7 min at a time. He's had some trouble controlling his "business". Twice, we've been so worried about the use of his hind legs we've taken him to doggy emergency. The weakness in his legs seems to get worse with the cold. Now, the worst part...He doesn't see or hear well at all anymore. He doesn't recognize us unless he gets close enough to smell us first. I'm worried. But I love him so much, I don't know what to do.

I am worried of having an out of control dog. Lately when I take her outside, she refuses to go back into the house. If I tug on her leash, she lays down on the ground and won't budge. She is treated very well and has plenty of play time outside. This is a new behavior. My boyfriend never has this problem with her. As soon as he comes out there, she runs into the house. I don't yell at her or hurt her. I have tried treats also, but she gets to a certain part on the sidewalk and won't go any further. What is going on with her? Is she testing me? How do I get her to look at me as a dominent also? Also, I have a nine-month old...should I consider this agressive behavior?

I'm going on holiday for christmas (13 days actually) and thinking about some fish-feeding solution. Is holiday fish food any good or should I go for more expensive, automatic feeders? Thanks ;)

I lost my cat Lilly to kidney failure last year. She was 6years old, vet said that it was uncommon to see kidney failure in a cat that young, and assumed that she was born with it, but it only at the time progressed.

About 9 days ago I lost my mums cat to old age. Our whole family loved him, he was 22(human years old - Older than me! Zaccy the cat was always there, he was with my mum before my mum met my dad!) Of course me and my mother are heart broken, we loved Zac so much.

When Lilly died after a few months I asked mum if we could get another cat, mum said no because Zac wouldn't be able to handle it. He didn't handle it well when we first brought Lilly home, we didn't want to put him through it again. (After a while they learned to love each other though, they were always together!) So I understood that, I didn't want to hurt Zac in any way, think that we were replacing him. So we didn't get another kitten.
- Don't have enough characters left to finsih, ill add more to details.

My cat has been throwing up more than usual. She throws up what she has been eating. She used to throw up a couple of times a year but recently it's been once or twice a month and twice in 2 weeks today. I wondered if it's because she is getting older, she is 14 years old or if it could be her diet. I give her one foil of meat a day, dry food available all day and she drinks water outside. I recently stop giving her milk as I heard that is not good for cats but she still threw up today. Apart from that she seems happy, still eats and goes about her day doing her usual stuff. I'm gonna take her to the vet but was wondering if anyone might know or has, had this problem and what did you do?

We do not know the sex of the other bird. They have had 3 eggs before which after 27 days did not hatch and where yolks only in them.

What do we do with the eggs so as not to upset the birds and also for them not to continue laying?

please i need help. I have a kitten that i rescued from a creek. i don't know her age yet we have had her for a month. i gave her a flea bath and about three weeks later another. she was badly infested. when that didnt help i went to pet store vet and they gave me med. not telling me that it would poison her cause you can only give a small kitten flea treatment once every 3 months. now she is fighting for her life and we can't go to vet right now they said to give her pediacare and keep her warm. does anyone know of anything else that can be done, i feel we are losing her within each minute that passes she is so week and can hardly move. i don't want her to die. please help, any info would mean the world to me right now.

We got my daughter a kitten about 5 mos ago. We didn't realise he was going to be bigger than our yorkie. He constantly attatckes her... he knows it wrong, when I see him stalking her I'll yell at him and he sometimes stops. Also, when I catch him doing it, all I have to do is look at him and he takes off to his hiding spot. My question is, how can I get the cat to stop? He's a big guy and my poor little dog has to live in fear. Oh, he also attackes the kids and has broken numerous christmas bulbs off the tree! Don't say get rid of him, that is a very last resort, I like him... he's cool, but a big bully. :)

Our 2-yr-old PEW suddenly became very lethargic & lost interest in eating. His eyes had a lot of porphorin but he didn't seem to be having a myco flare-up although his breathing was occasionally a bit labored. His eyes seemed a bit glazed, that's the only way I can explain it. I was able to coax him to eat a little & we'd planned on taking him to the vet but he went downhill very quickly & we lost him this afternoon.
He seemed fine right before he got sick. Could this have been a stroke or possibly a heart attack? Are there any subtle warning signs we should/could have been aware of? His brother is obviously depressed & we're giving him extra attention. Thanks for any insight/advice.

It bugs me so much! i get this weird algae that acts like a thin membrane over my sand and my plants and my rocks. I can pick up pieces of it with my hands but it's not very effective. I've tried syphoning it out but i can only suck up so much before my tank loses too much water [i have a 10 gallon].

But ya, can anyone identify this type of algae and prescribe possible solutions?
