My baby oreo died about 3 hours ago I came home with the wife and kids and found him alone in his dog house curled up I called for him he was breathing heavy and sound. Oreo ment alot to me and my wife because before we had kids and no money it was just oreo and my wife he was very protective dog always watching out for her because I worked for fedex real early in the morning and living in the blueridge mountains in a really isolated area he was an amazing friend of mine It hurts.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your fur baby Oreo. A lot of people believe that animals have no souls and are not capable of love, but a true animal lover knows better. Oreo loved you and would not want you to hurt or be sad. Unfortunately that is a natural thing and you cannot stop it. There is one poem, The Rainbow Bridge, that will really help you through this. Grieve for Oreo. Celebrate his life.

I'm so sorry.
Always remember it was a peaceful, painless death in his sleep, which is the death so many people want for their pets. You were lucky. If you think about it, Oreo has sort of structured your lives today, by making you stronger, happier, and safer. His spirit will always live on.
PS: If you think it will distract you from the grief of physically losing Oreo, by all means, get a new dog if you think it's best. That's OK. Nothing was every your fault. You might feel guilt, but thats normal.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is a sad time indeed. They become so much a part of our family dont they. Grieve for Oreo, and once you have then you can remember Oreo with a happy heart and not a heavy one. You have your memories and no one can take those away from you.My best wishes to you and your family. x

I am so sorry for the loss of your dog. The grief of loosing your dog really does hurt and people who don't have them often don't know just how much. I cope by thinking of the wonderful time we had together and understanding that although my dogs can't be with me forever I've done my best to give them the best life that I can in the short time we had. I'm sure you have done this for your dog, you could have done no more and it is now time for him to rest.
