Well, i just got a new dog. He is only 3 months old. When he first came to our house, he just loved his dog food. But i have another dog. She doesn't like eating her dog food, she only wants to eat our food. Now that the dogs know each other now, the one I just got will not eat his dog food anymore. Any suggestions?

You see I have two chihuahuas and we are holding a chihuahua right now for someone else. She is our Male chihuahuas sister. She had a home but they gave her up so we found another home and she will be going there on christmas. Anyways we are holding her here and she keeps barking. Any suggestions. I think that our Male doesn't even know she is his sister.

Shes three months old and I got her from a breeder.

I originally wanted a Conure because the ones at Petsmart that I played with seemed to enjoy the play. But not this one. -.-

She's quiet, she doesnt play with her toys and she's bit me three times hard enough to draw blood.

I feed her twice a day and i've only fed her twice because i've had her for a day. When I feed her I lay down and put her on my belly and cover her with a towel and she calms down enough to feed her. I do the same thing after I bathe her. I wrap her in a towel afterwards and she falls asleep on me because I bathe her at night.

She has her wings clipped.

She bit me once while trying (emphasis on trying) to file her nails, once while trying to take her out of the cage and once while petting her after I put her in the cage.

Shes constantly puffed up and every now and then when I get close she puffs up and starts bobbing her head until I touch her and then all her feathers go down.

HELP! What do I do/not do?

Im away from home for 8 hours, although someone is at home most of the time, but I am prepared to do lots for a dog. But I am stuck between getting a chihuahua (not sure about the agressiveness towards strangers though) , a pug (shedding is the only thing that makes me hesitate about this breed), a greyhound (retired) or another breed (preferably a toy or small size, but not a poodle, any other breed suggestions welcome!) Please help!

So, today we might be picking up a puppy form the shelter =). What should we do when we leave the shelter with him? Take him to the vet? Take him home, then what? What should we do with him to make him feel comfortable. I want this to be as least stressful as possible for the pup.

Well I'm buying a pomeranian for my mother and I went Yesterday to look at the pups and they are soooo cute, but I'm a little curious...The father of the pup is a blue Teacup pomeranian and the mother is reg size sable anyways the puppies on the other hand are a normal pomeranian size, but the one I picked out is a male also and he's half their size and he's not the runt, so my question is could it be possible the one I picked out is a teacup also? "I mean this pup is small!" I held it and it's about the size of my palm and I'm only paying $250.00 for it and it's APR registered, so anyone please help me, please!!

I have 2 dogs from the same litter I adopted from a neighbor who was going to take them to the pound. They are half Blue Tick.
Baby Girl is dominate over Sarah when it comes to food but they play together as if nothing is ever wrong.
2 days ago Sarah stopped running, jumping, playing and eating. Baby Girl is as usual, trying to play , eats everything in site.
They are both about 13 months old and about 50 lbs.
Neither are spayed and neither have had their shots.
They are in a fence and do not eat from the table.
I have never had a problem with their food
I don't know what to do. I have walked around the yard to look at their poop but none looks out of the ordinary.

Something I'd never seen before yesterday, After Baby girl was finished eating she ran over and growled at Sarah to get her food.
2 days ago she was perfect. Now she walks around with her head down. I pulled her out and tried to let her eat by herself and she ate a hand full. I even tried to feed her a piece of hamburger and she wouldn't take it. I showed it to Baby Girl and she snatched it from my hand like she'd never eaten.

I felt Sarah's stomach to see if she would pull away from pain but nothing. She sorta lifts up when I try to touch it.

Now when I walk out there she walks the other way looking at me like I am going to hurt her.

I hate going through this again after I lost my favorite dog in the world last year.

Thank you in advance if you have Any info.
Bill

My husband and I got a dog from the pound almost a year ago, and he has been a really good dog. He is a mix between a beagle an a shepard. He seems to have changed in the past week or two. He has been showing his teeth and growling at my husband and I. He is really good with my older son, he is not mean but avoids my younger son. Last night he started to go to the bathroom in the house so my husband put him outside to go. When he came back in he snarled at my husband and either scratched him with his nails or his teeth. My husband has never been scared of dogs and he has been around some mean dogs, he and even put him in his cage last night and was scared to pull him back out. The dog was nice to me last night so I am not sure if he is thinking I am the dominant one now so that is why he was mean to my husband. So we don't know exactly what we should do. I dont want to take my son's dog away but I dont want to risk my children being bit. If anyone can give me any advice, thank you.

If I were irresponsible my cat would not be 14 years old and still as playful and healthy as a kitten. I've had her since she was a kitten. I also have a 4 year old Peke that I've had since she was 6 weeks old. Getting rid of either one is not an option because I love them both. Button (my dog) is very obedient altho very stubborn at times. We've been through obedience classes together. Gypsy (my cat) is a loner and does not socialize with other cats or animals but she is non-agressive. Both pets are house pets. My problem is I have to keep both pets closed off from each other in different parts of the house. Button hates Gypsy and will attack her at any opportunity. Button becomes a totally different dog when she sees Gypsy. No amount of "No! " or "Heel!" is effective. It's as if she becomes deaf and demented. When I have waded in and physically pulled Button away she has tried to bite even me. Hubby is a vet and even he is stumped on this. Any solution or suggestions?

We rescued the sweetest yellow lab on November 4th. She had been dumped off out in the country at my brother-in-laws where he kept her for two months. He was going to take her to the pound so we said we'd take her. THE FIRST WEEK WE HAD HER ... we took her to the vet for shots and asked if she was pregnant (her nipples looked slightly swollen) but, the vet said "no" she wasn't pregnant. Well, now SHE'S OBVIOUSLY PREGNANT and due any day. We can say with much certainty that she was impregnanted by my brother-in-laws Golden Retreiver that isn't neutered. We don't want to keep the puppies and were figuring we'd just give them away but, I got to thinking...if we just give them away to strangers I'm sure we'll get every "tom, dick, and harry" over here trying to accept one...people who don't realize that puppies turn into adults. Well, I'm wondering if we sell them if we'd have more serious people coming to adopt them....what do you think? BTW: she's getting spade ASAP afterwards!

My one and a half year old female Golden Retriever is the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. She's pretty well trained and is absolutely wonderful with our children. The only downside is whenever she see's someone new or someone she doesn't see very often she gets so excited that we can't even control her. We will tell her to sit and she might for about a second until she can't control herself anymore. But when just my husband, daughters and I come in the door she'll give us a friendly hello without jumping and go back to sleep. Why is she like that with us but so hyper that she pulls us over if we try to hold her back when someone else comes in. She also doesn't really calm down much while the guests are here. My husband gets so frustrated that he just locks her in the bathroom which I hate! I don't think she'll learn that way. I know she's still young but what can I do to teach her to not jump on our guests? I'm too embarrassed to take her to dog training classes.

This is the first time I take my puppy from California to New York. The flight is 6 hrs long and the Vet gave me acepromazine. I wonder if anyone has used this product. What were your experiences? Also, do you have any suggestions as to how many hours before flight should I feed him? What about water? What about handling him at the airport (he likes to bark and wants everyone to pet him. I am also concerned about his peeing on someone? Once on the plane, how to handle him?

Thank you very much for your anticipated assistance.
