You need to call the vet and ask him. No one here should guess what's going on with him.

Physically, it would be a serious strain on a dog that age. Ethically, we have so many "excess" dogs in America that thousands are put down every day. Why bring more puppies into the world when there are so many at local shelters that neeed homes? Talk to your vet about this. I'm not sure I'd put an 8 year old dog through spaying, but there may be alternatives.

You have not mentioned if you called your vet. This should be the first thing you do. What kind of food do you give your dog? Have you changed the food recently? How old is your dog?

You can immediately replace your dogs water with pedialite, which includes electrolytes. This can be found in the baby section of any grocery store. Give your dog very little to eat until your vet tells you differently. Do not change your dogs diet until you know if it is the food. You will only upset your dogs tummy more!

First off, are you feeding the dog other than dog food. Is the dog a pup? The dog could have worms or have eaten something that was bad. A couple of days with diarrea is not good as it can dehydrate your dog.
Please call your vet asap and take a stool sample with you for them to check out for any parasites.
Good Luck.

If you changed his diet 2 months ago not likely the cause.
If a dog has diarhea more than 1 day for small dogs 2 days for larger dogs then they should be seen by a vet as they can very easily and quickly become dehydrated.

give him some cheese, not a lot it will help stop it, have you changed his diet lately? Change in diet will cause this, it'll pass eventually.

i'm not an expert at this, but it's probably the food you're feeding him/her. the same thing happens to my dog when he eats something bad.
you can always take your dog to the vet.
