The tail looks crooked and is sensitive to the touch. He always was wagging his tail and now it just hangs there. Any suggestions?

You say sensitive to the touch. Do you mean as in pained? Is there a chance someone stepped on it?

If so, it'll probably heal in time. But if something is broken, you may want to see if a vet can help.

Not many critters like having their tails handled, but a dog's tail shouldn't be crooked.

Good luck!

This happened to my pit bull once, the only thing I can figure out was he was wagging his tail so hard, he wagged it into the door frame and made a bruise, This also happened to my mom's dalmation......they were both down for nearly a week until they got better...they are both wagging again. I have also noticed when my pittie doesn't feel good, his tail hangs down.

My beagle's tail is always up and wagging. Are you sure he's feeling ok? Has he been eating? Has he eaten something that he shouldn't have? Maybe constipated? There is a variety of possibilities. Beagles are usually happy dogs, so keep a close eye on him.

He may be in a state of depression. Make sure you take good care of him and give him enough food, water, love, etc.
